Me: I may not be able to have liquor for this birthday, but I have a monitor. 8D
Dad: Least when you wake up with a hangover, the monitor will still be there.
(I'm so egotistical)
The new monitor is named Dist. It goes well with my laptop, Piers. And my God that is a joke nobody but two get.
...is happening this week. My guesses are that it'll occur either tonight or Wednesday. I'm kind of excited.
The main purpose of the second monitor is to have more space for working on digital art. Therefore, I can run Photoshop or Sai on one monitor and have the other to do things like IM or be in Chat or watch a movie. My main concern through this whole ordeal is trying to get my monitors to match in colors, and the best I can come down to is making sure the screens have the same "finish", as it were. My laptop has a "glossy" screen, not a matte one, which is also known as anti-glare. Anti-glare sucks for colors, since it dulls them down.
Least, that's what I figured.
And doing more research says that the "contrast ratio" advertised on monitors really doesn't matter, since it's a thing that doesn't have an industry standard. Blargh. Why is this stuff so damn complicated.
I'm also fairly confident I'll be naming the monitor Dist, since my laptop is Piers. [MAJOR INSIDE JOKE FTW]
Realized the fact this afternoon that today is Chat's third birthday. D'aw, isn't it cute?
Who'd'a thunk it'd turn into what it did today?
You know, the breeding ground of sarcasm and moe screencaps?
Wouldn't have it any other way.
Went out to my university town to pay rent, hit up the art store as well. Guess what was on clearance. PRISMACOLOR MARKERS AHHHH
45 of them. That set in the background is one I have been wanting for AGES. I managed to talk the guy into giving me the clearance price on it. :'D
But yeah, there went my entire paycheck. I REGRET NOTHING
(Luckily the markers aren't going away, they're just lowering the inventory to 72 colors, which is fine by me. And they're bringing in Copics, of which I go "meh").
Yesterday, I marathoned fifteen episodes of Tiger & Bunny, a show I have heard much about but never sat down to watch until I learned that Hulu had it streaming. Score!
I mean, really, the word of "bunny" in the title threw me off of an...
