My next week is going to be really, really busy.
- "Concept exercise" due tomorrow in Illustration. We have to make a picture for a short story. We were given no limits...so I, being myself and very egotistical, am making a sketch for The Cupcake Caper. This sketch paper is easily prone to smudging, unfortunately.
- Work tomorrow and Saturday night.
- Recording Anime Pulse on Sunday night. No Movie Sign for the first time in two and a half years. Also something extra going on that night. Yay~
- Have to write another memoir and a definition essay for English, HOPEFULLY due next Thursday. Whatever the day, I have three papers to turn in.
- Have homework to do for Life Drawing (say whaaat). Due to Valentine's Day, it's a "romantic" self portrait. Worst part, it has to be a mirror study. AGH. I don't even know what to do! Prof wouldn't give me clear instructions on the grounds of "I don't want to direct you", which I understand, but I'm rather limited in what I can do. All the expressions I can think of involve my eyes closed.
- Another Illustration assignment due on Wednesday, which is an image for a poem or a song. I'm doing a song. I have grand plans. Problem is, I might have to restrict myself for time. :/
- And I still have to keep on top of readings and such.
Only good thing is that Anime Milwaukee is next Saturday. I, the Doctor, have a Rory. It shall be fun.
(Picture-heavy!)
Oh, where to even begin...
We've been told of this huge major snowstorm for the past few days. It was mainly talked about on Monday, from my memory. I think it was sorta brought up in my classes last Thursday, but no...

Anybody who was at Movie Sign last night already got to hear me whining and complaining about not feeling well. It's something that started up on Saturday, and I thought it was just some irritation from my retainer. The back of my mouth/top of my throat was hurting, and although I tried valiantly to fight off any sort of illness, I eventually woke up to find out I had succumbed to one.
I didn't think it was too bad at first, until I realized that it was reallllly hard to speak. To phrase my Illustration prof, "Oh no! That's like taking away your greatest superpower!" Sore throat, dry cough, lots of drippy mucus. Blegh.
Went to Health Services at 10 to get checked out. It took for-freaking-EVER. Not the wait, but the actual appointment! I suppose the phrase "nothing if not thorough" is in effect, but oh my God, it was too long.
First ten minutes consisted of a nurse asking me all the basic questions, which is something I can't blame them for...except they know what meds I'm taking? Confusing...
But after a very long appointment, nothing came from it, nor did anything come from the throat swab. I only went because Lauren had bronchitis just last week, so I figured I'd take precautions and go early.
That doesn't mean I don't feel lousy. Came back and got salt and honey from one of the freshmen, because apparently gargling salt water makes a sore throat better. I contend that it does, for about ten seconds. And honey is apparently an antibiotic. Magic!
Slept for a few hours, still feel lousy but too twitchy to do anything. Least I was able to finish The Great Typo Hunt.
It's no secret that I've become a bit of a, shall we say, podcast whore recently. Anime-Pulse is going to be two come the middle of February, with plans of consistent guest-hosting in the future.
If you've forgotten the post I made a few days ago, I was also on the OtakuBoards Podcast with SomeGuy and Japan. You can listen to it here and maybe, if you're feeling generous, comment on it in the thread?
I talk. A lot. I don't know why. I also come off as a bit of a jerkass, though that's probably to be expected.
My fish died. ._.
Which isn't much of a surprise, to be honest. Sometime over winter break, she stopped using her left fin. The PetCo clerk suggested she had a stroke (wuuut) and, well, yeah, she had a high chance of dying. Took care of her the last couple weeks of her life and she was alive at 3am when I went to bed. But when I was awake at 11, she was very much gone.
It's a sad loss of a cute little fish who was a nice desk companion and inspired me on some art projects. Iris, my dear little betta fish, you will be missed. :(
