Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.

Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

I lied about the video thing

Oh yeah, and I got a Tumblr for no reason.

V-log: Anime-Pulse recording

A brief (hurr) summation of what went on last night.

(I promise no more videos for a while.)

V-log: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn

Part 1 of 2 of my v-log adventures for today. This is my LOOONG rant and review on Golden Sun: Dark Dawn. I complain a lot but that's because complaining is easier than praising. There's three seperate videos between the two because I had a...

It's the day!

The day in which my dad does his annual "going Christmas shopping for your mom because I am a man and don't understand things" trip. Also, my mom and I are baking!

Oh yeah, and podcast recording AHHHHHHH

You know what the real killer is? It won't be posted for like, two weeks. The wait is going to kill me.

But other than that, I keep switching moods between "AHH AWESOME" and "AHHH TERROR". I swing on the extremes of emotion that rely on 'ahh', you see.

Odd development happened yesterday, when I was in Wisconsin at my grandma's for dad-family Christmas. It was...typical fare for that side of the family, which...isn't very exciting. But I got a text from TimeChaser saying he was going to watch "Detroit Metal City" (I realize I'm putting the wrong punctuation for these titles, but this ain't English so I don't care) because Ichigo's reviewing it for the podcast. I had heard of the show before, vaguely, I think because I read a brief snippet about it in Anime-Insider when that magazine still existed.

Anyway.

What resulted was a back-and-forth about the show, and when I finally got home and had Movie Sign out of the way, I gave the first episode a watch, fully expecting to want to turn it off quickly. ...Which was the result, I assure you! But I kept on watching it, and something was ticked in my brain because I ended up watching the rest of the series (which isn't hard, it's twelve episodes that are essentially 11 minutes each (minus intro/end themes)). And I l...I llll...I llllliked it. Yes. If I bothered with MAL I'd give it about a 7/10.

Brief opinion: It is DEFINITELY not a show any of you kids should watch. The language is horrendous and some of the themes are mature, but there isn't like...eh, hard to say. It is, however, a parody of heavy metal rock and such, why is probably what got me to like it so much. It was funny. Subtitles got me to laugh, dang! Also, 'cause I have to: The art is different and the execution unique (frame styles kept changing, which I thought was interesting).

Anyway, got more coffee to drink and then the things I made mention of in the start of the post to do, so I'll be doing that now.

One last squeak of promotion

So yeah, me and TC are going to be on the Anime Pulse podcast. We need things to talk about.

Check out the post I made at the Watercooler if you want my explanation, or you can read the one on the front page that includes TC's rather confusing explanation. *avoids brick*

Drop a comment on either and we'll be gold.

I'm thankful for the suggestions that are coming in, though also amused that most of them are kind of about srs bzns topics (IE, scanaltions and censoring and that thingie about banning anime or whatnot) that I know, in the past, I haven't always agreed with the podcast boys when its been brought up on the show. ...Or wait, that was mostly about the merits of dubs and subs. Carry on, then!

My other amusing point is people wanting us to talk about ourselves. Hurr hurr. What in the world do you folks want to know...? WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!
