Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.

Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

I feel all cultured and stuff

Yesterday, I hit the train with Terumi, Jiaqi, and Autumn as we went to Chicago to see the gallery opening of one of our professors. With a name like Ben Stone, you know he has to be cool.

It was the first time we'd done something of the sort, since going to Chicago requires planning and making sure we know what it is we're doing. We're not exactly the greatest when it comes to that latter part, but being on a schedule of when we had to leave and come back meant we couldn't screw up. And screwing up would be bad no matter the case.

Ben did say one thing to us last year concerning his art, and that was his love of Team Rocket. His daughter is getting into Pokemon now (she's like, four) but he said to us in class that he wanted to make a sculpture of them. We just brushed it off as lulzy.

Except he actually freakin' did it.

And here you can see it in THREE-DEEEEE! And if you want it, it can be yours, for the price of $2000.

There really isn't a whole lot else to say other than the train rides proved far more entertaining than needed, especially the one back. Essentially, our college lives have been broken down into eight seasons with various major plot points along the way.

In other news, Whovians continue to reign in my dorm.

Because we all like pictures

Hand is way better now, just has numerous tiny blisters on it. Otherwise, it healed up nice and I was able to write a ton on Sunday despite it all. Week 3 is here, meaning there's thirteen left after this, which is funny to think about. Th...

I burned my hand

The pain, it is very much. Two kinds of burn treatment are helping me out, though.

Thankfully, it's my left hand and not my right. Can you imagine me not being able to draw for like, a day or two? Aggghhhhh!

Okay, soooo...college.

Alright, the post I keep putting off because I am a tired, tired person.

School has been going alright, but it is very busy. I'm not surprised, given that on top of 18 credit hours between six classes, I'm working in the art office for large chunks of time. My other free time is spent doing work or sleeping, which is something I desperately need to keep up on in order for me to wake up and go to all the classes I need to and such. I'd really rather not slip this semester that I kinda (sorta) did last semester.

Okay.

Monday and Wednesdays start at 10am with English 200, which is for my minor and also caused the creation of The English World. The guy who teaches it looks like Vincent Van Gogh. So far, it's been fine, though I know it's going to get a lot more intense come the heavier reading courses. We shall see.

Right that, at 11, it's Sociology 170. I call the guy Santa Claus. It's a vaguely interesting class, due more to the professor than the actual subject. However, being a gen ed, the participants are...yeah. Ah well, I can draw during the class.

At noon, I swing back to Neptune Central to eat lunch with Jiaqi and Terumi. It's nice to be on semi-synchronized schedules with them this time around.

1pm is when I go to the art building to work in the office from then until 4:30. I'm a little put-off by this at the moment, since my job, peer advising, isn't exactly going on. All the advising hours and not when I work, and seem purposely scheduled for when the other two work. I brought this up and was told "oh, we should ask so and so", who wasn't there. So. Um. Hm.

I mean, I feel useless as it is. I hardly know any of the stuff that the other two do. I'm really good at the advising part, but everything around the office I'm absolutely not-knowing of. It's frustrating.

Anyways, then comes dinner. Dinner is always looked forward to. I end the day in ArtS 200, or, Life Drawing...or, Drawing Naked People. And yeah, I've drawn naked people. Better yet, I have to take two semesters of it. And to keep up the course, it's taught by Mr. Clean.

Tuesdays suck. They start at 8am in, ta-daaa, Illustration! (ArtS 327 for those of you playing at home.) I actually really do like this class, since it's taught by Bill Pullman. Not really, but I have a trend going. Anyway, Illustration, the first class in my major coursework...again. Haha, changing majors.

We had our first critique today, and mine actually went over well! Very well! It wasn't the most detailed but it didn't get any ill remarks, which blows my mind. I'm a happy panda.

At 11am, I have Painting (ArtS 323) with Professor Trelawney. Yes, seriously. I'm still waffling as to whether or like I like or loathe this class. Tuesday was awful but today was pretty good. It's all oil paint, which is something I was looking forward to. Maybe I'll get to do some fun stuff.

I get out of class at 2, and once I get back, I take a nap. Dude. Tiredness hits me hard once I've been awake since early in the morning and had two studio classes in a row. But naps are great.

Naps are ruined by dinner and then Japanese art history (ArtH 379-B). This luckily only happens once a week, and I have it with Terumi and Jiaqi. We...are the only sophomores. It's a bunch of juniors, seniors, and grad students. Oh, and the teacher looks like a female Sulu or something.

Wednesdays are a repeat of Mondays, while Thursdays are done by 2. We go out to eat and have good times. Fridays are just English and Sociology and then I either go home to work or get to stay here (which I'll be starting next week).

I'm being dragged to play Uno, so I'll be back later. :V

Synchronized Habits

Again a not-college post, which I'll be posting sometime anyways so keep your pants on. Was kind of "tagged" by Trip to do this and was on a roll up until I had to write Sherlock. AGH. ------------- “How...
