Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.

Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

Just putting this out there...

I've mentioned that I love you guys, right?

Because honestly, I don't think I've ever laughed so much over the most random and stupid and just plain weird kind of stuff as I have here, especially since the start of this semester.

Wouldn't be surprised if one of these nights, I got a knock on my door telling me it's quiet hours.

Major props to Ducky for saving this Chatlog, since I accidentally hit my backspace right after it happened. Just a random happenstance in Chat that amused me... ------------ Wayward Warrior: I need to write more on ...

Back to this again

The next semester is already looming ahead, and part of that involves the fact that scholarship information for the art department has been put on display. Five pieces, can be in any medium, and, well, trying to be awesome.

I do think I grew a lot as an artist between now and six months ago, but actually looking at my work, it's hard to say what really stands out and is different. My portfolio from Art 100 is rather dreadful until we got into charcoal and actually using value. Art 102 is...okay. There's some decent stuff, but for the most part that wasn't a very impressive "project" class.

So I once again turn to you guys for help, which I hate to do for my mere guilt factor. But if you're familiar with my stuff or can take a quick bum-through of my gallery and throw out suggestions of work that would be good for this, I'd really appreciate it.

Right now I'm thinking of using my drawing final and perhaps the portrait I'm working on right now (once it's finished, of course). If I felt like being daring, maybe I'd submit the series of theTaco "trading cards" (yes, I'll do more, I'm just swamped this week kthnx).

...Other than that, I'm blanking out. =_=

Also, I have to write a speech. Boo.

The part where I go "fluuuuuh"

Wow am I tired right now...buh afternoon slump...

What has gone down the past week:

  • Stuff

What went on this weekend:

  • Mitsukuni's exhaust system is crapping out, so I took that over to my brother's to get it checked.
  • Went shopping with Terumi and our friend Jamie at this big outlet mall.
  • After a lot of deliberation, I got my ear pierced.
  • Got sushi.
  • Went to the Junction for coffee and stayed there for like two hours.
  • Worked on an art project from 11 to 2:40.
  • Watched the FMA: Brotherhood repeat.
  • Did something from 4-5am.
  • Slept at 5am
  • Woke up at 10:30am to eat brunch with my friends.
  • Came to the art studio to work on the portrait some more.
  • Uhhh...

So by far the most interesting thing on that list is the ear piercing. Yeah. Um...after about twelve years of my mom telling me to get my ears pierced, I do it on a whim and only get one done (my left). Frankly...it's all I want. >>; But I'm pretty sure she won't be all that happy since...yeah. The one thing.

Oh mah gawd I'm so drowsy right now.

This coming week is full o'stuff. Tuesday I have a speech due and Thursday is a test, a paper, and the project I'm working on. I'm trying to get most of the drawing done now, finishing it in class on Tuesday. Tomorrow is speech working, Tuesday is paper writing, and Wednesday is test studying with Terumi and Jamie.

So really, if I come online and am procrastinating, start yelling at me. (But not during Monster, let me have that.) I'm also probably just going to be tired.

Next week is spring break, oh thank heaven.

All the cool kids are doing it

Man, I need to make a real post sometime soon. ARE YOU? 1. Perfect: I really do wonder if anyone has answered "yes" to this. 2. Tall: 5'3", not a chance. 3. In your pajamas: I'm in my bathrobe...>>; 4. Left han...
