Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.

Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

For one week, recommend/share:

Day one: a song
Day two: a picture
Day three: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day four: a site
Day five: a youtube clip
Day six: a quote
Day seven: whatever tickles your fancy

Day two:

My original picture was this one of my best friend from pep band. It started off as a doodle before it became expanded and just turned into this massive storyline. The gut sitting down and staring was our student teacher, who was also very cool.

I'm going through my Photobucket right now and I've come across this image, so here guys, have at it.

Titled "Gir in Gold Boots" (it's on DA somewhere...)

Since I started it

I'm having a hard time sitting down and hammering out posts, so I guess I'll do this. I snatched it from a friend on LJ, which was promptly taken by Trip and then spread from there.

Day one:

My original song was "Over the Hills and Far Away" by Percy Grangier, and it's a song we played for the spring concert my junior year. I absolutely adore this song; it is just so fun and whimsical. It really reminds me of my childhood, of playing outside until sundown, going out to explore and just to have fun.

My other song is "Love You Madly" by Cake. A friend of mine originally shared the song "Short Skirt/Long Jacket", which is on the same album (Comfort Eagle). I was at the bookstore, saw the CD right there in the open, took it as destiny, and bought it, therein learning that Cake is awesome. Anyway, the song is just your standard sort of pop-esque tune of love. But it's not like, sappy romantic. It's just a sort of "Whatever happens is what happens and that's cool with me".

It's a long way to tipperary

First came Shin with Unmei Kaihen, then there was Japan with Imagrey, and now, there's me, with It's a Long Way to Tipperary. Call it Tipperary for short.

Yeah, I'm actually going to try and do a sort of "adventure" blog (ugh, I hate that word) that chronicles the artwork I do in college. I want to see how I evolve over the course of college and what I accomplish. I'm keeping it strictly art related, but since classwork isn't everything, I'm so going to post up doodles, fun works, and whatever graphics I make.

I'm still hammering out the finer mechanics, but for now I'm going to (gradually) post up work I've already done.

Shopping spree

A while back, a friend of mine told me of a robot pencil sharpener she had found while out shopping one day. It was a toy robot that you wound up whenever you sharpened a pencil, and it would then proceed to walk when you were done. As an art student, I love things that disturb the peace, so I went off on a hunt today to find it.

And I found it! Hey, not a bad price either! I think I'll pick you u -

And thusly, I got distracted and went on carousing the site.

Calendar tape, huh? That'd be useful for me, as me and calendars tend to not get along and I will never use the one on my cell. The staple-free stapler also sounds cool, but I'm a bit wary on using one, as I have the feeling one fell snag will have my English essay flying away. If I had a lunchbox, this is the one I'd want to get.

These? The coolest shiz ever. I'd so want the equalizer one, but the wi-fi detector is growing on me.

But presents! Oh my God, never such a trove of gifts! This is also the point where I realize that all my friends are total dorknerds like me. I can think of several people who'd like a Pi ice cube tray, while this measuring cup fascinates me too much. Perhaps I've found Kastom's Christmas present while our resident Whovian would like this one very much. And while thinking of Ryu is logical for this thing, I'm amused that I also think of him with this.

To wrap it up, I kinda want this necklace along with this one (which would go perfect with this coffee mug). And they seriously need to get this back in stock, because Mr. Kurama the Zune would love it.

On a completely different note, is there somebody smoking on the floor below? Not only is this illegal, but it is bothering the hell out of me. 8I

Rock beats skull every time

It's been a few weeks since I've made a real post, and I have a buttload of stuff to go over. I'll break this down into various sections and pages and etc. And after two hours of writing...HERE IT IS! University life has been pretty ...
