Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.

Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

"Some of the great artists of our time started off by doodling in class. ...Maybe. Oh heck I dunno."

Just gotta keep...

I have to run to the Neptune North computer lab really quick to print out an English paper, but I can take a moment to pause and think about what's going on.

Kastom and I are in the dorm lounge right now, both laptopping away. But due to the security measures here and stuff, he can't get on the interwebs. So he's kinda like...sitting here...while I write a paper...

Last night's drive to Midway airport was interesting, as my dad and I were actually talking the whole way about completly random things. At the airport, there was a welcome home ceremony about to start for some Navy folks, but we left before that got underway. Dad drove Kastom past Fermilab because the nerdage was quite high, and...etc.

Coming home, we talked for a bit with my parents, and Tom brought us presents. OF FOOD! (How that passed customs is beyond all of us.) Then he helped me with my stats homework before we watched Hobgoblins. xD But I was dozing off so we stopped about 2/3 of the way through.

"Hey I'm going to do something really cool, watch this...Look! You can see my legs! You can see my legs!"

And uhhhh yeah. Been goin' to class, wanderin' around, doing stuff...Music let out early, since we had an exam, and my fast quiz-taking abilities came in handy and I ducked out of stats recitation ten minutes early.

Oh, and I have a new roommate because Natalie just up and left. @_@ Her name's Allison, she's an art history major, and we're getting along soooooo well. It's good times.

Cinematic Titanic tonight! I think we're going light on the geeking; just going to enjoy the show and meet the folk and head home. Tomorrow is going to be the fun night - ACen crew reunite!

On the dictionary

I'm writing a very small, paragraph-length assignment for my English class. And for the longest time, I have verbally been using the word "chalant", though I typically use it in terms of "non-chalantly".

But whenever I've gone to use it in MS Word (and Firefox), I am told it is not a word. So I go to Dictionary.com; maybe I spell it wrong. No, nothing. I finally went to Google, my first result being UrbanDictionary. Okay, definetly not reliable, but seeing -

OH FACK YOU

So apparently "chalant" is not a word. Therefore, "non-chalantly" is not a word. But "nonchalantly" IS word.

EFF YOU ENGLISH LANGUAGE

EFF YOU

Coming down to the ground

Just a quick little update between me doing art homework. :D

I got my haircut yesterday. And I mean extreme haircut. Okay, not EXTREEEEME, but it's a lot different. No, I'm not keeping it this short - me and my hairdresser agreed to cut the shape and then let it grow out to fit the style I wanted.

My best description is "vigilante out to kick some ass".

OH YEAH AND I FOUND MY GOGGLES. THEY WERE IN A BATHROOM DRAWER. WUT. WHY. I DON'T KNOW.[/capslock]

You can raise welts like nobody else

As we dance to the Masochism Tango...

Okay, work in a half-hour. LET'S GO!

- Kastom arrives at Midway airport in four days and three hours.

- That means five days until Cinematic Titanic.

- But why am I not excited? Because I've got a crapload of work to do before then. Tonight is actual-work (you know, my job), then I have to tackle two art assignments, write a summary for English, take a quiz for Music (it's online), and do my Stats homework so that I'm ahead for Thursday. I won't feel anything until Wednesday afternoon.

- Two weeks of school down means I've got fourteen left to go. Sheesh, that seems like nothing.

- Yesterday I got my first session of training at the art building. It was just a basic rundown of the building and the function of each floor. When the boys came (due to class schedulings, we overlap for only one hour rather than two), we went out around the building. Then we learned that one of the labs has a 3D printing and we geeked.

- I've got a cold or a sinus infection or something. Sore throat, runny nose, but no fever (I hardly ever get fevers). I had a headache, but ate some cup noodles and felt so much better.

- I had a dream that 'gome was at NIU and we were roommates. It consisted largely of her playing the PS2 hooked up to my dinky TV while I sat on my bed with my laptop.

- Wow is my brain loopy. Thanks Robitussin!

I enjoy you Nikon

Just a random picture of a sign on the Holmes Student Center, which is right across the street from me.

So in case of a nuclear attack, I'm covered.

Also, I was browsing GraphJam earlier. I giggled at this one.
