If the title wasn't a giveaway, I'm successfully back home from New Orleans. And I've got a gnarly sunburn on my face, neck, and shoulders. Wooh.
The band received a silver rating, which, for our first time, is pretty awesome. We were the first group to perform - 8am. Had to wake up at 5am. >_O We also received a sort of spirit award (best representions of our school/community) and two of three "maestro" awards for solos. One went to my friend Meghan on flute, and the other to Lauren, my oboe buddy since forever. For the first time in my life, I cried tears of joy. I was so excited and proud of her.
I also learned that Cinematic Titanic is coming back to the Lakeshore Theater September 10th through 12th for five shows. I immediately texted Schultzie, and we're going. I would randomly spaz on the bus with the garbled phrase "CinatmicTitaniciscomingbacktoChicagoinSeptember!"
Detailed post coming later. Now I'm just relaxing, catching up on things, and waiting to chill out in Movie Sign.
The day has finally come. New Orleans, you're about twenty hours away from now.
But first, I am hungry. Hang on.
...
Okay, I'm back. With coffee. And cinnamon rolls!
So yeah, uh, band trip today. Shipping out of the house in about two hours...then we'll be leaving around 2pm...then it's bus ride. Seventeen hour bus ride. Piers the lappy is coming along, along with about 3/4 of my MST discs because it's a great time killer. Also the Zune, drawing materials, some reading things, and uh...blanket.
Oh, and plushie!Forrester. Me and the kiddies are trying to get one of those photo projects where you have the stuffed animals at various scenic locations of interest around your vacation and take pictures. Yeah.
Speaking of the kiddies, we went out for lunch yesterday at Red Robin. Somewhere along the way, I became Mama Kat (which isn't that unusual, considering that's my position on drumline), with my "little sister" Chelsea being my...sister, my sophomore buddy Sophie being my other sister, Missy being my clone ("We'll make another one - just be sure to make this one at least 50% girly, okay?") and then another sophomore, Shannon, being my...daughter. Ryu, I'm sorry, you became Papa Ryu. Rest assured, I kept telling Shannon that her father doesn't love her. *brick'd*
Beyond that, we became convinced that our waiter, Darek, was Jewish and married. We left him a nice tip, arranged very prettily and such. Then we booked it out of there and frolicked around Target.
So while I know today is April Fool's Day, I really don't give a dip about it. Too focused on the band trip. But there is something I need to post up at the Watercooler...
I'm finally getting caught up on Lovely Complex, since the three Saturdays I missed for Anime Club were the ones that wrapped up the series. I've been so busy and have not had the time to sit down and watch the the episodes that I'm only now getting to them.
Aaaand the more and more I watch it, the more and more I have to go "Adgjakdfjakldf" at it. It's...a lot like my own situation. Stupid truth in television.
...Really that's all I gotta say.
Oh. The power went out last night. I was observing Earth Hour, so I didn't know it went out until I noticed the lights on my TV were gone. The outage lasted from around 9pm to 11pm, which sucked because I had just gotten comfortable to sleep at that point and had to then proceed to turn all the lights off (yeah, my parents didn't do it despite me telling them too). Grr!
Double oh. It snowed in the early hours of the morning. Yes, snow, in late March. WTFs-ensue. I did get called off of work though, which...is fine by me. 'cept I need to swing by Tuesday and pick up my tips so that I have s'more cash for the band trip.
Movie Sign in about an hour, tonight we're watching The Skydivers. New Orleans trip in three days!
Like coming home from school and finding Coke Zero in the fridge. I love you Mom!
However, it's also the weird things:
POCKET!FORRESTER
My sophomore buddy Sophie crocheted/hot glued it for me. *_* It's the second part of the thank you/senior gifts from tech club. He hung around in my pocket all day, making for interesting questions. Most people think it's a voodoo doll of my friend Brian...
Here's a better shot of the scale of him. I've got weird friends, I know. But oh dear God I love them. XD
A post of pictures.
First comes...my senior gift from the kiddies in tech club! ;___; Well, Missy bought it, but it's apparently from all of them. Hurr. *hit*
