Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.
Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

So Ryu's back, and I thank you all for the bombardment. XD He seemed happy by it, and it looks like he's here to stay. Or rent, who knows.
Tonight was the second run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The show was to start at 7pm, but at about 6:45, the fire alarm went off. I was standing in the "lobby" of the auditorium, slightly confused, but soon took to helping people file out. The alarm went off for about ten seconds, then came back on...I ran to the commons to check out the grade schoolers, and I ended up going outside with them so that there was a tech person stationed there...
We ended up standing outside for about twenty minutes. Mind you, it's thirty degrees, and I'm in a t-shirt. Little chilly, but overall no big deal. Just...annoying.
Finally we get back inside (I got elbowed by an old lady WTF) and got the show started at about 7:40. It went well, still entertaining and fun and catchy. Afterwards, me and most of tech (Joe, Aaron, Jordan, Snackshack Alex, Missy, and Ryu) went to Colonial, got ice cream and coffee (well, me and Ryu). Fun times.
Topic shift!
I am so bloody excited. Forty-eight days to go too! I can't wait, just...eee! Ryu and I were talking about it during intermission, and if he pre-registers in time, he may be coming along...Hey guys, do you mind if I invited him to crash with us? >>;
Tomorrow I'm going out with my seamstress/oboe buddy Analise to get a-workin' on the cloaks. Since it's...just cloaks, I don't think it'll be hard. The rest of the outfit is looking to be black pants, a halter top, and the boots, maybe gloves too. Ack, and I need to get a wig because I can't and don't want to dye my hair.
Keyblade is in the basement, getting a nice gloss sealer on it. After that, I'll buff it down with steel wool, then more sealer...And I have to make the keychain for it too. No big deal, just gotta make a...Mickey Mouse charm...fun stuff.
I hereby declare that this post was brought to you by the ellipse council. >_>;
I want you to assault Ryu, as he's newly registered to theOtaku again. Seems like his account was deleted (which I get, but it seems kinda odd, since I don't think anybody wants that name...) but he's, um, back. Well, he sent me a PM late at night, and he probably doesn't want me sharing this, but hahaha. :D
Ryu harks back to the SOAP days, and he left when the articles section was deleted. In that case, the only people who might remember him are like, bellpickle, Sangome, and Kastom...And stuff.
Anyways, three more gos at Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Later.
Today was the spring blood drive at school. I donated at noon and worked the 1pm-2:30pm shift 'cause I'm in NHS and we run it and stuff and stuff. I donated in 5:51, just shy of my previous record from last fall [5:32]. The boy in the gurney next to me was like "YOU'RE DONE ALREADY WTF".
A handful of my sophomore buddies were able to donate for the first time, so I had a fun time guiding them along with things. One of them, my second bass drummer Alecia, sat down on her gurney and was getting all prepped....One of the questions the nurse asked was "Are you allergic to iodine or latex?" Her answer was, very simple, "Not that I know of". I proceeded to joke "And watch, you find out you are."
Uh, yes, she is; allergic to iodine. XD;
It went well, though we did get a pinch less donations than last time. Ah well, we still do very well for a small school, and they're talking about setting one up for the summer too, which is nice.
I really can't wait to get out of this house. For those of you who know me, you probably understand why.
I got my letter from NIU Housing and Dining yesterday, confirming my payment to them and such. In April, I'll be able to select my room and such. I've pretty much decided to room in Neptune Hall, and because of the options I selected, it'll be either Neptune East or West (not North). I chose three options - Coed, Quiet Lifestyle, and Alcohol Free. I value my sleep (strangely enough) and since I can't drink until my senior year of college...plus I just don't want boozers.
That narrows it down to either living on the second floor of East or the third floor of West (well, judging by the flooring plans of now). Seems pretty good to me.
...
Holy shit. Like...five months from now, I'll be moving in.
I've been keeping this journal since seventh grade. I've documented plays and tests, field trips and band concerts, people, places, and things...The endings of five school years have come and gone. Eighth grade promotion was four years ago. In two and a half months, I graduate high school.
Little Katana has really grown up.
Work tonight, dunno what the flow will be. Fridays have been popular (probably 'cause of Lent and our fish fry...) No work next weekend, instead, it's the musical - Joesph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. That's Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7pm (I MISS THE ENDING OF LOVECOM GAHAHIDOAJFP) and Sunday at 2pm. Then it's four and a half days of school and SPRING BREAK! Four days later, we hop on the bus to New Orleans~
