Hello there, this is Katana, also known as Kat in some circles. I'm your friendly neighborhood twenty-two-year-old illustrator/writer whose sarcasm is second to none and harboring the ability to verbalize the parentheses in stories. I drink coffee and draw like an addict and am liable to get you into things that I like. Currently the wielder of a BFA in Illustration and a minor in English.

Questions? Comments? Death threats? Feel free to PM or message me in some iteration. I'm always around, you just don't know it.

"Some of the great artists of our time started off by doodling in class. ...Maybe. Oh heck I dunno."

Wisdom from my photo professor, also formally my boss:

"This is why artists are crazy people. Most of what they do sucks, and when they start something, they're terrible at it."

But you keep going at it anyway. 'cause we're crazy.

*tips hat*

I have no angry music. I think the angriest music I have is like, symphonic stuff. So this has been my jam.

(Yeah seriously, Hanson actually became a legit band.)

Hi. I'm a third party.

Some of you may be aware of a certain situation. The people who need to know will understand. If you don't get it, don't concern yourself.

I am the "third party" in a certain other person's posts. There has been a lot of dissing on this third party because I am apparently a person who just doesn't understand, or something like that. Or in other words, I'm a bad person. Stop being a bad person, me.

How to summarize my thoughts...something like this: That moment when you feel punched in the gut and have been thoroughly lied to for two years, had your emotions manipulated for two years, and feel so betrayed you can’t even rage about it because you don’t know what to do.

There is a whole 'nother side to this story that I am not sharing because I view it as a private matter. Apparently others do not. And we may be human, but that is no reason to do the things that have been done to me.

When it comes to working on projects, I have one reliable space in my room. It's the wall that has the shelf-thing going on and is also alongside my desk, so I can maintain my time on the internet. Priorities, I has them.

My next Drawing assignment is an "altered landscape". Egged on by my class, I changed my theme for the semester to "A Tribute to Who" because when else will I get to do stuff like this?

It also means I get to wake up to the beautiful sight of red on my wall.

And lo, the neighbors did learn, that Kat does not tolerate thine BS

People in Chat at 4am will know about this, and there's a version on Twitter, but allow me to elaborate.

The townhouse me and my friends live is in a row with four other, and a similar body is across the parking lot from us. Now, our row? Pretty good. Quiet, doesn't bother us. Good times.

The row across, not so much, and because of one unit in particular, the one exactly diagonal across. Bunch of party people, and I'm fairly certain they're the type that get to cruise through college for a couple years before a.) things get hard and b.) Mom and Dad catch on to what they're doing.

Last night, around 2am, I was in my room, drawing and talking to you fine people. Heard some noises, but that's not unusual. Heard people go up the stairs; also not unusual because we share ours with the unit next door. Then I hear this loud and rapid pounding on a door, but couldn't determine if it was ours or the neighbors given where I was. (My window faces the parking lot, so I also hear all the noise from the stairs.)

But whatever it was, it was harassment, and I decided the next time they did it, I was going to go up there with my cell phone and Mr. Stabby to chew them out.

Well, I got the chance. Heard people on our steps, so I went upstairs (minus the phone and Stabby, however) to hover over the door. I was going to go to check if Terumi was awake on the third floor when they did it again, resulting in my tearing down the stairs, wrenching the door open, and shouting something a bit stronger than "You cut that out right now or I'm calling the police". Imagine more expletives, but nothing to the point of me threatening them. About the same as an angry neighbor with zero social skills chewing out little kids for breaking his window.

The funny part was the guy who didn't expect someone to answer the door so quickly, so he tore down the stairs, across the parking lot, and to the offending apartment. So uh, thanks for telling me where you live (or were partying at). I got the denial shouts of "We didn't do it!", "Go back to bed!" and "Go do your homework!"

So I went down to my room and called the police. And as I was on the phone with them, they did it again.

The police did come, eventually, and it was a bit surprising. They knocked on the door, and I was at first a bit unsure, but decided it was too polite so I checked it out. Talked to the officer, gave my name and number and just a brief thing of what happened, told them where the guy went, and he walked on over to talk to a couple guys standing outside and smoking. This cop was accompanied by at least two other guys, which was really surprising, at least to me. I just didn't expect three of them.

Now...Terumi was apparently behind me while I talked to the cop, so we hung out in the never-used living room and peeked out from the window. I kept watch on their door, where some kid was outside, but then I noticed that, when I looked down to where the cop had been talking to the kids, they weren't there anymore. And they hadn't gone in the door.

Did I mention underage drinking is extremely plausible in this situation, given that I think we're among the oldest tenets in this place?

After that, some girls kept checking from the door, opening and peering out and closing it. Around 4am Terumi and I called it quits and I headed back down to Chat.

I had a great day yesterday. I got the shopping for my Halloween costume done (Jake Blues), scored a clearance How To Train Your Dragon toy, re-dyed my hair (red, blue, and purple), got a free dinner, had frozen custard, jaunted around Target and Canterlot, and wrapped it up with coffee and drawing. Then people have to go and eff it up.

Moral of the story: Kat is descended from a line of honey badgers.
