A brief tour of inanimate objects

Well...two days until dorm move-in. Thursday night I'm going to the movies (hopefully with Ryu) to see the RiffTrax Live event of Plan 9 from Outer Space.

In the meantime, I have another gadget - an external harddrive. I really needed to get one, especially now. In particular, I dread if I was to lose my pictures, mainly because I've got portfolio material in there. Hurrrrgh.

So with some time to kill until the evening, I decided to think of the list of my inanimate objects of which I have named after characters - namely bishounen o' mine. >_>

Object: Zune (8GB)
Name: Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho)
Why: It's red. Microsoft asked me to name it for the software, so I did. And thus begins the downward spiral...

Object: Gateway M-151X (laptop)
Name: Piers (Golden Sun: The Lost Age)
Why: It's blue (pacific blue).

Object: 2000 Toyota Camry
Name: Mitsukuni (Ouran High School Host Club)
Why: It's gold. Yes, a lot of these are based on color. But it's also a slicker name than Hunny or Momiji.

Object: Genius G-Pen F610 (tablet)
Name: Godot (Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations)
Why: That's...a good question. It's grey and black and very thin and...that's about it. It just seemed to fit.

Object: Motorola Adventure (cell phone)
Name: Alphonse (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Why: It's silver and red, so it vaguely fits. This is again because it seemed to fit.

Object: Scanner (hey, I bought it at a rummage sale)
Name: Lockon (Gundam 00)
Why: A late name, but man, a scanner? And Lockon? It works very well.

Object: Nintendo DS
Name: Picard (Golden Sun: The Lost Age)
Why: It's blue, but also looks like a smaller version of my laptop. Picard is the name used in the Japanese version for Piers.

Object: Mr. Coffee 4-cup coffee pot (woooh!)
Name: Armando (Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations)
Why: Even though Godot would make a lot more sense, I figured Diego Armando was a good enough back-up. And Armando sounds cool.

Object: Buffalo MiniStation (external harddrive)
Name: Haro (Gundam)
Why: It's small, and the very first thing I thought when I looked at it was "Haro".

Ughhhhh still have two hours to go...
