I'm writing a very small, paragraph-length assignment for my English class. And for the longest time, I have verbally been using the word "chalant", though I typically use it in terms of "non-chalantly".
But whenever I've gone to use it in MS Word (and Firefox), I am told it is not a word. So I go to Dictionary.com; maybe I spell it wrong. No, nothing. I finally went to Google, my first result being UrbanDictionary. Okay, definetly not reliable, but seeing -

So apparently "chalant" is not a word. Therefore, "non-chalantly" is not a word. But "nonchalantly" IS word.
