So something fairly awesome happened tonight. Here's a video to sum up my feelings:
Went to 3D class, and was shoved a letter. I've been nominated for a tuition-refund scholarship kind of thing. If I nabbed it, it would reimburse my tuition for the spring semester, which is a pretty sweet deal.
It's sort of like the general portfolio submission, in that I need to choose five works I've done, except that these have to have been made sometime while at university. I believe that means none of my "for fun" stuff. So Yeah.
This time around, however, I think I might actually know what I want in my portfolio. For review, this is the "school section" on my DeviantArt.
But Do We Have The Key? - Definitely one of the more awesome things I've ever made, and I really am proud of this. In critique on Tuesday, there were no complaints on it, which is something really special.
Meeeeeemories - I'd like to fix up the face a bit, but this also got high praise in class (and, at time of critique, was the only one of this assignment done in conte). I like it enough.
Contents Prone to Shifting - Wherein I show my English side and give my characters some love as well. This thing is also a beast and would need a much better photograph or, if I dared, a giant transport tube to put it in.
And then I argue with these three:
My Heart's Still There - I like this better than the DVD case design when it comes down to the final product, as it's, you know, a poster. I can make posters. I might swap the texts I used, since the one on the DVD case came out better.
I Know Something... - A two-day mirror study and our first go with charcoal portraits. The thing is, when I compare it to the color portrait (first link), I'm like "Dude, I look so different..."
Stippled Beaulieu - Because this took me for-freaking-ever. I'd just like to dark up the shirt.
Guys, I would greatly appreciate your feedback on this. @_@ omgthnx
Also, I'm going to investigate to see if I can submit some of my "for fun" stuff...
