It liiiiiiives

Last night, around 8:40, I was dong my usual Sunday night thing. You know, Movie Sign. I turned to get something from the fridge, and when I get back, I notice Chat had disconnected.

So I do the logical thing, refresh my window. Nada. Then I notice the symbols for my IM programs are all greyed out, so I'm like "Uhh...internet?"

Do the second-logical thing, which is take out and plug back in the ethernet cable. Wait a few seconds. Nada.

After a few more minutes of messing around, I decide that perhaps it has something to do with the updates Windows had just installed. I proceed to shut down the lappy and then called Trip to tell her what was going on. This is because if you randomly ditch out on Movie Sign, we assume the movie was too much and you bailed on us, and considering last night's was a season 1 episode, it's entirely possible. (But me? No way.)

Piers reboots, I'm all set, and still, nothing. The major issue was that the security log-in that my campus has in place was not popping up, but moreso, I wasn't getting any sort of "LOG INTO CISCO CLEAN ACCESS" on the webpages, I was just getting error notices. Hmm.

I proceed to move to the lounge and attempt to use the wi-fi. Still nothing. Slowly, more people come into the lounge before a person makes a mention at how the internet in their room wasn't working, causing the group to lead to the conclusion of "the internet isn't working". A girl runs off to the front desk, returns a few minutes later and says "They say it'll be fixed in 30 minutes".

I give Trip another call. "This is what happened. I obviously won't be back in time to finish the movie. I'm going to take a shower." :B

Get that done by around 9:30, and I decide to wait until 10 before obsessively checking the internet to see what's up. And as you might've figured, that time comes and goes. In the meantime, I read old chatlogs and IM conversations I've saved to amuse myself. And really, it's amazing how much entertainment value those have in them.

By midnight, nothing had been fixed, so I decided to do something I never do at that time, which is sleep. Zomfg.

At least when I woke up, it worked.

YES, THAT IS MY DRAMA.

In the meantime, I've been on the prowl for getting my hands on a copy of Adobe Premiere Elements. Yes, preferably Elements, as I have actually used a version (6.0) and liked it. Unfortunately, the software-for-cheap that they have here on campus is 2.0, which comes bundled with Photoshop Elements 4, which I really don't need...sigh.
