Aka, Kat is a very bitter person.
Today was the day of Batavia's Art In Your Eye festival which, if you can't guess from the title, is an art show. There's vendors who display their things, people giving demonstrations, some performances, and a juried show.
I had a panic attack Thursday night while looking around the website, seeing past winners and the like. I kept telling myself not to worry, but it's hard when I have reason to freak out. My main problem is that my two accepted entries are, well, self-portraits. Also, they're a bit silly. But really, they're the kind of thing nobody outside of myself and people at school are going to want to look at.
Part of the process for getting my pieces to where they needed to be was framing them. And this was no easy feat. Why? The damn things are huge. 22"x30" huge. But my dad and I built them, and here, have some rather useless photos:
(Guess the episode, win a prize!)
At the end, they measured 27"x35", just squeezing into the maximum of 36". Considering how bloody expensive they were going to be if I had them framed pretty much any other way, I'm proud.
