This IS about college!

AKA, Kat Goes To College, Year 2.

Sophomore year! Wtf happened to the year before? I dunno, but it came and went and now here I am.

I moved in Friday, and it was a very sweaty affair. It's been hot, so the first thing I did on getting in my room was plug in the fan and blast it to high. My roommate had already moved in but was doing freshman things, so I got to settle in without much issue.

My roommate, I should mention, is spectacular. Really, truly is. Her name's Lauren, which is a name I'll probably be referring to without title in the future, so get used to that. She's an art education major and is very talkative and cheery and has colorful posters and photos on her side. We've been getting along so well, and not just in the small-talk situation. Bumming around and being lazy has been fine too, which I'm glad. We're not consistently isolating ourselves from each other, we actually converse. After my failure with the past two roommates, I'm so happy on this development.

Not a whole lot went on Friday, though we did go out to dinner. Sushi and hibachi is omnomnom. After coming back, we went to this game night held by my friend Deb and her church group. It was card games, which was great because after moving in, I didn't feel like playing, you know, Twister or anything.

Coming back, I discovered two things about the cable at the university: 1.) We have ABC Family, so I can still watch Whose Line. 2.) WE GET FOOD NETWORK AHHH.

Saturday me, Lauren, and Deb ate brunch, I got my books, then Terumi and Jiaqi moved in so I assisted. I sweated a whole lot more, dunked my head in water to start afresh on that, then watched Terumi unpack for about two hours. Afterwards, the three of us went out for dinner, to the bookstore, and to the grand ol' Wal-Mart. Getting back, still nothing much to do, so I printed out random things and hung them up on the corkboard. I still have much to post up, calm down. :P

Today was moar brunch, but when I got back I ended up watching about three hours of Food Network with Lauren and her friend. We riffed so hard on Cupcake Wars, which was fun. Dinner was at our favorite place, the Junction, then I was able to get back for Movie Sign.

But I had to cut out early to go to our first floor meeting. And. Agh. 9 to 10:40. What a...waste of time and a waste of my backside's resistance to the floor.

We played an ice breaker game that involved going around in a circle, saying your name, your major, and then asking a question to the person to your left. I had Deb on my right and Terumi on my left, so it went like this:

Deb: Who's your favorite Doctor of Doctor Who?
*larger reaction from the group than expected*
Kat: It's a tie between 8, 10, and 11.
*cue rabid reactions from two Tennant fangirls*
Kat: *to Terumi* If you had a sandwich named after you, what it would be called?
Terumi: >8I ....I'm Gonna Kill You Ginger. ...Does that work?
Kat: Excellent!
Terumi: *to Jiaqi* Where would you like to travel?
Jiaqi: Uhhh...okay, fine, Japan.

This is important to know.

Then we played the game in reverse, but in a sillier way, where we said our answer to the opposite question.

Jiaqi: *to Terumi* What is your hometown?
Terumi: I'm Gonna Kill You Ginger...*to me* Where would you like to travel?
Kat: A tie between the 8th, 10th, and 11th Doctors.

And then an hour of things I knew.

But hey! Classes start tomorrow, with English 200 right off the bat at 10. I'm nervous because this is the first class for my minor, so my brain is kinda going "afghfhflsdd". So let's see how this goes.
