Anybody who was at Movie Sign last night already got to hear me whining and complaining about not feeling well. It's something that started up on Saturday, and I thought it was just some irritation from my retainer. The back of my mouth/top of my throat was hurting, and although I tried valiantly to fight off any sort of illness, I eventually woke up to find out I had succumbed to one.
I didn't think it was too bad at first, until I realized that it was reallllly hard to speak. To phrase my Illustration prof, "Oh no! That's like taking away your greatest superpower!" Sore throat, dry cough, lots of drippy mucus. Blegh.
Went to Health Services at 10 to get checked out. It took for-freaking-EVER. Not the wait, but the actual appointment! I suppose the phrase "nothing if not thorough" is in effect, but oh my God, it was too long.
First ten minutes consisted of a nurse asking me all the basic questions, which is something I can't blame them for...except they know what meds I'm taking? Confusing...
But after a very long appointment, nothing came from it, nor did anything come from the throat swab. I only went because Lauren had bronchitis just last week, so I figured I'd take precautions and go early.
That doesn't mean I don't feel lousy. Came back and got salt and honey from one of the freshmen, because apparently gargling salt water makes a sore throat better. I contend that it does, for about ten seconds. And honey is apparently an antibiotic. Magic!
Slept for a few hours, still feel lousy but too twitchy to do anything. Least I was able to finish The Great Typo Hunt.
