My little bit of a tribute to the late Elisabeth Sladen, wonderful lady and total BAMF as Sarah Jane Smith on Doctor Who. I feel a bit ashahmed for not having seen that much with her in it, but what I have seen was enough to make me grow very fond and respecting of her.
It takes talent to make someone care about a character in such a short amount of time, and Sladen totally pulled it off as Sarah Jane for me. Who was this older lady (as it was actually "The Stolen Earth/Journey's End" that I first saw her) who was really, really cool?
You see her as intelligent and adventurous in Doctor Who, but also caring and sweet in the Sarah Jane Adventures. Sarah Jane is the kind of person I wouldn't mind having as a friend or as my mom. She was awesome.
I think that's why I wrote what I did on the next page. News of her passing just made me hurt all of yesterday and still today. My soul really just hurts. Elisabeth Sladen was too young to go, but the fact that it was from cancer took me completely by surprise. I had no idea she was ill because she never seemed to look it. That's amazing.
Rest in peace, you wonderful lady.
