Forward, to a new catalog

My art school is going through a massive catalog overhaul, and the ones caught in major crossfire are the sophomores and juniors. To change to the new year, or not to change…the decision is so freakin’ complicated that we all have mandatory advising appointments, and I just got back from mine.

Art classes used to count for 3 credit hours. Now they’re counting for 4 come the fall, but absolutely nothing about them is changing. You know what that means? I’ve been working harder than most other folks for the same reward. No wonder I complain so much about how busy I am.

Going as I was, I had 10 classes left, after meticulous planning and two semesters of summer classes. The new catalog has me with only 7 classes left. I have to take four in the fall and only three in the spring for 14 and 11 credits respectively.

...What.

That 11 won’t make me full time, though, so I can either take a one credit class or even swing an elective I’ve always wanted to take. Some of the design classes intrigue me, it's just a matter of getting in to them...

All that’s left are two semesters of Illustration, senior project, vector, the second art history survey, and two English classes. Beforehand, I still had two studios and another art history to do.

Though I can't guarantee this'll free up my time (I know my professors will find some way to make it harder), I can say that I'll be paying a bit less than I have been. That's always nice, right?
