A day like a day

My parents went off to see "Jersey Boys" [the 2pm show, which started...an hour ago], so I've been up to my own today.

Last night at work...it was crazy. It was a strange state of busyness, because while there weren't a record-setting amount of people, and we weren't frantic, but we were pretty much always doing something. We had more large parties rather than the normal duos, and they were sticking around longer than usual. But we [the bus kids] were told to stay the latest ever - 9:30 and 10. Normally, we're told to get off between 8 and 9, so yeah.

Also, I think I've gotten over having a fear of the bus girl who worked with me. I thoroughly believed she hated me, since she has a tendency to yell at me [that phrase implying anger over volume] and always seemed rather fed-up with me. She made a quip to me once, and that was before we opened, and then...that was it. We got along and were laughing and joking and duoing very well. At first, she was going to take the later shift, but was so exhausted that I gladly took it off her hands. She ended up sitting at the bar and enjoying a soda.

The restaurant closes at 9, and by that time, it was really quiet. The last half-hour was me cleaning up the last of the tables, wrapping silverware, and finishing up the laundry. I punched out at 10:03, but the waitresses were having a pow-wow at the bar, so I hung out there and we talked about the day...complained...and chatting about random things...It was fun. Because I was there until closing, I got all my tips - at least $30.

Then I had to jet because my parents would be freaking out, since I never work that late. I even called them earlier to say I would be working that late. Hur hur.

I was so tired and sore and completely zoned-out, which showed in the last hour of work. After counting my total tips [between yesterday and last week, I got around $55] and taking a shower, it was...internet time! I wasn't able to sustain conversations very well, so talking to 'gome and timechaser created sparse chats. Something spurred me to Skype with TC, and I ended up staying up later than I thought I would be able to. He promoted Farscape to me, I became increasingly sleepy, and then we discussed MST3K boxsets. [By the way, the 20th Anniversary one has some nifty extras, further concreting me getting it.] After almost falling asleep on TC, I finally coaxed myself to go to sleep.

This morning, I went to Barnes and Noble and bought:

Because I needed another one and had the money.
