But before that: I've only seen one episode of Lovely Complex BUT I LURV IT YAY.
Anyways.
I'm in AP Drawing/Painting, but it's referred to AP Art. The other AP class is called AP 2D Studio Design, but that's referred to as AP Photography. The point of them both is to submit a portfolio to the college board, have 'em judge your stuff, and get a score on it. The goal is a 4 or a 5.
Since I do computer stuff, the two teachers have been teetering as to what to submit me as. Yesterday, we brought in old work to see if we could use any of it as breadth pieces [you submit 24 total slides: 12 in a concentration where you have a theme, and 12 in breadth, which shows off your mastery of the basics]. I was the last to go, 'cause I brought along my laptop and...well yeah, I'm not quite sure either. Anyways.
After lots of thinking, it's been decided that my portfolio is being submitted as a design one rather than a drawing/painting one. Also, my concentration has been switched up slightly - it's being broadened to "technology" rather than my literal interpretations of internet phrases. However, since your concentration is supposed to grow and change and all that, we had to take a look at my pieces and think of an order.
We're thinking - because the focus is elements of design rather than your mark - that it'll grow by adding more layers and more. text, as they'll morph from pictures into advertisements [since it's looking like this piece will be the ultimate culmination product, or very close to it].
I'm thinking of taking some old pieces - that I did traditionally - and redoing them on the computer. Luckily, I can tackle those in a day or two. And frankly...I'm kind of excited about it.
Of course, this kind of screws me over for class, since the teachers are basically telling me to abandon paper and just do everything on the computer. >o>
But if it lets me show off my talent more, I'll happily bring Piers to school every A Day like last semester...
