What is it with me and archive digging? Yesterday I did it over at the Watercooler, and today I looked through Shin's archives over at The Fighting Mongooses. (I was amused to learn I've been following Shiggy since about page 44.) I have intentions of writing an "Ode to Chat" when the one-year anniversary of said website function comes to pass, and reading the archives reminded me of the whole "Olympic" thing. I believe it was SomeGuy who had the mirror set-up in order to be on the computer and still watch the games.
Anyways.
Shin's a movie guy, which is something I wish I could do. Regardless, me seeing his movie posts reminded me of a project I had planned for this summer. Now that vacation is out of the way, I can actually get cracking and doing it!
I want to watch movies this summer. But I don't just mean any movies, I mean flicks that are regarded as things people should see. I'm way behind on pop culture for the mere fact that me and my family just don't go to the movies (and even if I'm with friends, I go maybe once a year). I asked around school a little and the only help I got was from my band director, who suggested three movies. I've got five: 2001: A Space Odyssey, Princess Bride, Dark Crystal, Momento, and Across the Universe. I'm aiming for 20 and seeing how far I can get.
So if I actually get around to doing it (thinking of just going the NetFlix route for the summer), I'll probably do one of those weekly-posts kinda dealio. Merrruh. Lo and behold, I actually did it right after writing this post. I'm kicking it off with 2001, which my mom is wondering what's wrong with me for wanting to watch it.
Now, Waffles and I have to marathon and beat Fable 2... Did that. I knew the game wouldn't be very fulfilling, but still, the ending was a bit more hollow than I expected.
