This is a mish-mash post

Several points to bring up, let's go!

- Work. I pulled another trifecta weekend. Friday was slow due to the storms we were having, Saturday was long because...and Sunday was LOOOONG. I missed my first Movie Sign, which kinda bummed me out, but I figured we all need a break. Unfortunately it had be flippin' Quest of the Delta Knights...

I can't really say what's going on at work, but it involves our owner's wife who causes chaos in the restaurant. Couple of quotes from the two-hour "after party" (I had like, five Cokes) from Saturday: "You can't fix stupid", "The moral of the story: Barrel down the old guy", and "'DON'T TOUCH THE BUTTERS!!!'"

And yesterday was busy because it was Father's Day, but it was the usual Sunday routine of two waitresses and one bus kid. I was exhausted at the end, but made some damn good tip money.

- Wednesday was orientation at NIU, and I have my class schedule! And it RAWKS!

Monday and Wednesday is Stats 208 from 1pm-1:50pm, then Art 100 from 3:30pm to 6pm.
Tuesday is Music 220 from 9:30am to 10:45am, English 105 from 3:30pm to 4:45pm, then Art 102 from 6pm-8pm.
Thursday is the same, except add Stats 208 Recitation from 12:30pm to 1:20pm.
And Friday...Friday is Stats 208 from 1pm to 1:50pm AND THAT'S IT!

Both of the art classes are actual drawing things, not lectures, despite what the class list says. >>; And I'm so glad for having double-block in high school, because boy did it prep me for the long classes and make me giggle for the short ones.

- Timber is coming to Chicago because she won a scholarship essay contest (I found the copy on my computer with my editing suggestions). I am going to try and meet her tomorrow because the group is shopping on the Magnificent Mile. There's a discount art supply store around there that I want to hit up regardless of what happens. So...we shall see. Wow am I stupid. The group is shopping at night, not in the morning. Because I could never convince my parents to let me go to the city at night, there goes that plan.

- I finally told...well, I told my mom about Kastom. Dad is still in the dark. I think. But I had the chance to on Thursday, so I did. She reacted so non-nonchalantly it's to be rather embarrassing.

But she doesn't care. The thing that bothered me, though, was her acting as if a long-distance relationship doesn't...well, that it doesn't "count". Forgive me if I'm sounding really stupid and naive at the moment, but that's the part that bothered me. She was harping on how she had been in one in her college days and is mad for having passed up opportunities to go out with guys.

There is a difference between what she's thinking and what I'm thinking. I'm not talking about technology or anything like that. She's thinking that, because I'm in this relationship, that I will reject any guy that wants to be my friend. If a guy asks me to the movies or anything, I'll go, because I see no potential of a relationship coming from something so simple. If, however, a guy is hanging around me a lot and doing such things, then I'll throw out the rejection notice. Not like that's going to happen I AM SO NEGATIVE I'M SORRY.

I like having male friends, because I can't stand the drama of all females. I look at the fact that the only friends I've kept since sixth grade are Lorenza, my best friend, and Ryu. I know how to interact and behave around guys and feel comfortable around them.

What really set my mom at ease, though, was the fact that I not only was able to answer all her questions (which wasn't a lot, just the basics), but I was very honest with it. I said I would not care in the least if she wanted to talk to him and would very much like her to meet him (which she will come September), which is something she really liked and I think was taken aback by. I just don't see this chance coming up very often - I once said that my boyfriend would have to be a geek. Not only that, but he'd have to like anime, video games, and MST3K (the third being a bonus). I consider it good fortune that not only is Kast all three, but funny, smart, and well, good looking. ._.;

- Youmacon planning occurred after Movie Sign last night. Holy crap am I excited.
