So I finally managed to buy a new computer. Hasn't gotten here yet (since I just placed the order today), but I should finally be able to get online at my own time and not be forced to wait around/be kicked off at random times anymore. Which will be hella nice, I'm tellin' ya.
I suppose next on the list after I get that would be to finally acquire a Wacom tablet, which I can do since said company actually has moderately priced models now. That'll be exciting. :3
Other than that, things have been going relatively well around here. I haven't been thoroughly annoyed at home in quite some time and the kids have been fairly decent. It's looking on the up and up.
As far as anime goes, I've gotten behind on the series that I've been watching, but once I get my new computer, I'll get back up to speed. lol Better late than never, right? ;p
Anyhow, I'm still working on a few projects here and there, so wish me luck on that. Or rather, I would be working on projects if Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus and reading The Hunchback of Notre Dame wasn't eating up all my free time (though I'm almost done with the last one).
Oh, well. lol
So I've been watching the new spring anime when I can and I must say, I'm impressed. So much so, I've actually started this up again. ;p

So I got bored and needed a pick-me-up today. Went to the APG for some lulz.
It did not disappoint.

Beautiful Shinto priests break into the home of cursed Shinto priests to defeat evil warlords from Neptune. (Hey look, it's 90% of the plot of X! *shot*)
Kind-hearted rapists embrace effeminate Shinto priests to defeat evil warlords from Neptune. (There are apparently many Neptunian warlords that are evil.)
Perverted assassins cook soba noodles for Shinji-esque buttholes for their dead siblings. (The Shinji-esque buttholes made me lol hard.)
Comedic astronauts have a race against mutant dominatrixes to bring about the next stage of human evolution. (MST3K meets Planet of the Apes?)
Evil high school teaches battle suicidal aliens to save all mankind. (As opposed to just letting them do the job themselves.)
Primitive ninjas get romantic with born-again wizards to honor their dead ancestors. (Something about this is SO damn funny.)
Comedic war-criminals sail across space with radical masochists to prove that it can be done. (...Outlaw Star? Tenchi Muyo! ?)
Hermaphroditic vampires bribe mysterious high school teachers without their parents' consent. (I smell a Twilight spinoff! :D *shot dead*)

So we got out of school early due to a half-day. That was already awesome. Then I actually thought about it: I'm in D.C.; it's beautiful out (after a horribly rainy morning); it's the Annual Cherry Blossom Festival here...
JAPAN DAY. :D
So I hopped on the subway and went down to Chinatown (*rimshot*). Only reason for that is there's a sushi place down there called Momiji (yes, I did think of rabbits) that I've been meaning to try. So I went there and had a nice sushi lunch. One of the pieces of the spicy salmon roll I had was kinda gnarly-looking, but other than that, it was fantastic (though I found out they changed the recipe for Original-flavor Ramune. Sadness.).
After that, I went to Borders because it's been ages since I've been there and I was behind on my collections. So I finally managed to pick up YYH 17, Black Cat 18 and 19 and....Junjou Romantica 1 and 2.
*DIES HAPPY*
After that, I went down to the Tidal Basin and looked at the trees, which was very nice and sakura-y. Then I headed home.
Where I found my Mushi-shi DVDs waiting for me on the steps.
HAHAHAHA. :D
Today was an awesome day. ^^
So.
Today at school, we found out that our normal art teacher for the children won't be able to teach the art class from now on due to a schedule change. That's all well and good. Our new teacher (I'll call her Ms. Goldenrod) decided that she would do that art class instead. Okay, that's all well and good.
So art time comes around and this is how it starts:
"So what season's coming up next, everyone? :D"
"...Summer."
"No, spring! :D"
"...But it's already spring."
"Right, so spring's coming! :D"
And from there, it just kept going down. She basically had them take their initials, choose something springlike that starts with that letter and make a really basic poster. A kindergarten assignment.
Now, I know these kids are supposed to be "disabled". But they are actually very intelligent. They just learn more slowly than other kids. And they were pretty insulted by having to do that today. Honestly, I can't blame them. They already have it kinda rough being in a special class when they feel that they're just as normal as everyone else. I know Ms. Goldenrod's heart was in the right place, but I don't think she's realized that about him. I personally think that she was at an elementary school before she came to us and that mindset, coupled with the fact that to most people, developmentally disabled = mind of a child, so that's what's probably leading to the current issue.
Powers bless her, but if she keeps pulling things like that, those kids are going to start to act very unfriendly toward her and it's all really downhill from there. >>;
