1) I may have a job.
2) As a result of me possibly having a job, I bought myself Tales of the Abyss on Friday.
3) As a result of buying Tales of the Abyss on Friday, I am now a shameless Jade Curtiss fangirl.
4) As a result of becoming a Jade Curtiss fangirl, I attempted to get to a decent point in Yakitate! Japan to distract me from his wiles.
5) As a result of me reading Yakitate! Japan, I have found possibly the two most amazing pages of manga ever created.
(For those of you that are curious, these would be pages 138 & 39 of Vol. 4. I have no laughed so hard at manga in YEARS. For those of you that have already read or seen said series, remember when Azuma took on that crazy Italian-American foreigner in the Pantasia Rookie Championships? Yeah...it's that part. God, I love Kuroyanagi...)
...Isn't it odd how the simplest things can set off such amazing chain reactions?
Gotta love life.
So.
I just got done reading Adam's latest post about the whole NYAF contest thing and whatnot. Honestly, I'm surprised at what a lot of people said.
I mean, we've always tried to be fair with contests. Adam goes out of his way to do a lot of things for the site to make things interesting and fun for the members, which does seem to be appreciated by some, but others still seem to be able to find something to complain about.
My question is this: Why? I mean, like Adam said, he's made everything fair about the contest that he's hosting for ANOTHER PARTY. It's ultimately their decision about how the winner of the contest is determined. And so what if some of those that were chosen as finalists aren't well-known members of the community here? This is an open contest for all artists/anime fans to compete in. It shouldn't matter who got picked. They just happened to be the top picks out of what I imagine to be a veritable ton of wonderful entries. I say good for them. Congrats.
I suppose the main point I'm trying to make here is: If there's really nothing wrong, DON'T WHINE ABOUT IT. I realize that you can't please everyone, but honestly, this is a little ridiculous. Instead of complaining about a problem that isn't there, I think a hearty congrats and a wish of luck to the finalists should serve much better.
But that's just me.
Do you know what's amazing to me? The fact that my gamer blog hasn't been updated in I don't know when and only has one post and it KEEPS GETTING HITS. I honestly don't get it, lol. But I'm not complaining. I only wish I had more (and newer) video games to review.... --; However, without a next gen console, that possibility is next to none. So until I get a job and get a Wii, it'll have to remain inactive. :<
Sad day.
For those of you that are unaware, Tim Russert, NBC political analyst, host of Meet the Press and NBC Washington Bureau Chief, died today of an apparent heart attack at his Washington office. He was 58.
Tim has done a lot of good things for the industry and has set a standard for excellence with his style of reporting. He wasn't afraid to ask the big questions and call anyone out on things that contradicted themselves in what people said and what they actually did. He was always at the forefront of the political scene and did a damn good job with coverage for the Democratic Nomination, as well as coverage for the election in general.
He was a man that any aspiring journalist should look up to and look toward as an example of what a journalist should be.
I will miss him greatly.

See you in that big newsroom in the sky, Tim.
Well, for those of you that read my last post, you'll know that I have Internet at home now. Which is awesome.
But I've decided that I want to get back in the game a bit. Here at theO, I mean. Which leads to the focus of this post.
Do you think I should ask Adam if he wants to bring the Otaku Attraction back? I've been debating about it, but I'm a bit torn. Halp?
