So I got a temporary full-time job ringing a bell for the Salvation Army in front of my local grocery store; I've done it for two weeks now (started a couple days before Thanksgiving) and will go all the way through to Christmas Eve. It's a pretty good job: I mean, I'm doing something to raise lots of money for charity (must be pulling several hundred bucks a day by my guess) and I get paid for it. The downsides are that my feet hurt from standing all day, 40 hours a week, and it can get cold. But it's good to see people sticking their change or a bill in the kettle. Love when the kids do it; they seem to like hearing my bell. And I try to stay smiling by thinking about amusing stuff; it's like the old saying "Sometimes I stands there and thinks and sometimes I just stands there."
Of course, this has reduced my anime-watching as I no longer have as much free time as when I'm unemployed. And when I get home at 7 at night, I'm often so tired that I'm asleep by 10. That and lately I've been going through all the Agatha Cristie movies I've borrowed from my library; lots of Poirot and some Miss Marple. I suppose that with Naruto staring on Adult Swim this weekend I might give it a shot, but I wasn't thrilled the first time so I don't foresee getting into it now. Mostly now I watch Bleach, Samurai Seven, and Eureka 7, then go to sleep. Well, I do have to get up for church at 9 on Sunday morning.
