Epilogue: Stardust - Return Home
After winning the final boss battle the ground underneath their feet began to break away. The theme song music begins with a melody without lyrics and in its remixed format (lyrics found in Bonus Features). The land below them separated and departed into three different directions. Donald, Goofy, and Mickey were all on one of the land pieces heading towards Disney Castle. Riku, Kairi and Sora were on the one heading towards Destiny Islands. Adale was all alone on the last land piece heading towards Crystal Castle Village (a.k.a. Destiny Kingdom). They were all being sent back to their homeworlds. Adale turns around to notice everyone was drifting far away from her.
"Riku!" Adale calls, lunging for his hand, "Don't forget! No matter what! Nor where we are! We'll see each other again someday! Promise," she ended with a teary filled voice.
"Adale!" Riku replies back, "I won't give-up! I'll come back and find you again someday, soon! That's a promise!"
Adale smiled at him with tear filled eyes and he returned the smile back to her. That's when their hands break apart from each other and the song strikes a breakaway note.
The kingdom continued to come closer into view as stardust continued to falling all around her. She walked into the secret place where she and Riku drew on the walls together as kids. She sat down to cry a little bit and then noticed that Riku had visited the secret place. He left her a continuation of the childhood picture of them. It was a distant star drifting across the sky. She cried a little bit more, but she was happy to see that he came to visit the secret place.
She finished her visit there and then she walks out to the kingdom's dance room floor where she images the moment that Riku was dancing with her. She gives a slight smile, then it goes down to a fading smile or frown. She moves on to the balcony and stays there for a while, when she suddenly sees something happen.
Destiny Islands starts to come into view right in front of her and the ocean waves start to lap against the castle walls, and the shore again. This was a beautiful sight, Riku, Kairi and Sora were coming out in a boat to see her. She was already running out to the shoreline to see them, but she couldn't wait so she ran into the water to greet them instead, mainly Riku.
As expected or unexpectedly, here comes Riku out of the boat into the ocean making Sora and Kairi worry that the boat was going to tip over. Riku and Adale both ran into each other's arms; they embraced each other tightly. Mickey, Donald and Goofy soon joins the party back a Destiny Islands and that's the happy ending.
