Part 1

“Hold this,” his voice woke me just in time to catch the log he threw at me. I scurried to try and catch the log on such a short notice, but ended up dropping it.

“Riku,” I bent over to pick up the log, “do you mind letting me know before you just chuck something at me?” He just grunted.

“You’re just as lazy as those other two… Follow me,” he said picking up another log and then walking out of the forest. I stumbled along behind him.

“Try not to be so clumsy,” Riku called back to me. I sighed in a response, as we came out to the beach. I shielded my eyes from the sun and looked around the beach. Our raft was there but no one was working on it. Right next to it was Sora lying in the sand and Kairi was bent over him.

“Am I the only one working on this thing,” Riku asked. He smiled, “I knew I would find you two together.” He dropped the log into Sora’s lap, and then sat down himself.

“HEY SUMMER!” I snapped from my day dreams again. I couldn’t seem to concentrate today.

“You two are just as bad as she is,” Riku said.

“Well then let’s finish it together,” Kairi said. “We’ll have a race.” Sora and Riku looked at each other while Kairi counted down from three. At one both Riku and Sora jumped up unexpectedly and darted across the beach.

Kairi giggled, “Coming Summer?” And then we dashed off behind them.

“This is always my favorite part of the day; watching the sun set with the three of you.” I smiled looking up to the three faces of my best friends. Riku patted me on the head as I looked back out over the ocean. All was silent except for the noise of rushing waves. Kairi and Sora sat in the paopu tree swinging their legs, Riku stood next to me with his arms folded across his chest, and I sat on the ground leaning against the tree trunk.

Sora was the one to break the silence. “So do you guys really think Kairi’s home world is out there?”

“I think so,” I said stretching out my legs out in front of me

“How far do you think the raft will take us,” Sora asked.

“Who knows, we can think of something else if we have to,” Riku answered.

“What are we going to do when we get there,” Kairi asked.

“See the sights,” Sora said dreamily.

“Meet new people,” I added.

Riku looked like he was really thinking over his answer. “You know, I have always wondered why we ended up on this world. And if there are other worlds out there, then ours must be part of something greater. So we could have ended up on any world out there. So why this one,” And he looked over to us. Sora sighed and laid down on his back.

“Wow, Riku that was deep,” I giggled and Kairi joined me.

“Well that’s exactly why we need to get out there and find out. Sitting here won’t change anything.”

“Wow, Riku I didn’t know you were so….. capable of thinking like that,” Kairi said with a smile.

“It’s all thanks to you. If you never showed up here I would have never guessed there were other worlds out there.” He turned and looked back out over the ocean. “Thanks Kairi.”

“Your welcome.”

...

“So what do you think of Riku’s theory,” Kairi asked me as I climbed down into the boat. The sun had just sunk below the horizon and the day was over. It was time to go back to the main island.

“I don’t know… It sounds pretty logical to me.” I looked up to the night sky, “But I’m not so sure if I want to leave here. It’s so nice on the islands. I don’t see why Riku wants to travel so badly.”

“Me too, I was just telling Sora today that I’m happy here.”

We were quiet for a minute. “Hey Kairi,”

“Hmmm?” she answered.

“Umm what were you and Sora doing on the beach together this morning?”

“Oh, that’s nothing; he was sleeping, while I was actually working on the raft, and I woke him up. And then he started talking about his weirdo dream. It was something about darkness swallowing him up…. I have no idea.”

“Oh, well I hope you know he likes you,” I said with a smile creeping across my face.

“No he doesn’t,” She defended while blushing. My smile got bigger. “Well I hope you know that Riku likes you,” She said the blush retreating.

“Nah-ah!”

“Yes he does. They way he always hangs around you, and how he is always teasing you. He has his own way of flirting,” She said her eyebrows rising.

“Yeah well…. Hey, are they coming,” I said in a hurry to change the subject. We both looked over to the bridge connecting the island and the paopu tree together, and sure enough Sora and Riku were still standing there talking.

“I don’t know. HEY SORA, RIKU, ARE YOU COMING,” she called out. They both stopped and looked at us. I could hear Riku’s low chuckle and then he gave a thumbs up. He turned his back towards Sora and began crossing the bridge. Sora followed him after throwing something yellow behind him.

“So what about you? What were you spacing out about all day?”

“Oh, I don’t know. I guess I have been thinking a lot lately as well. I was just trying to picture us in a new world. It’s har- “ and at that moment Riku and Sora jumped into our little row boat and pushed us away from the dock.
----------------------------------------------------

I decided I would start posting some of this. I have 13 pages done that cover all the way up to when they visit Travers Town for the second time. So I shall be posting little bits at a time every once in a while.
ahhhhhhhhh I feel so silly posting this. Its soooo cheesey.
And I'm affride of the reaction to SummerxRiku. This is not a new thing of mine Summer is still going to be with Axel. But I have a very good reason for them to like each other, if they weren't crushing on each other then I would be a little stuck later on in the story. So its for the sake of the story, I still love Sumel. (What do you think of their couple name? Or do you like Axmer better? xD) So I hope that is all understood, sorry if I confused anyone.
uhhhhh Summer is going to end up sounding like a sue, I just know it. =S
