Part 2

I could see the little island over the waves of water. The sun was bright and the air smelled of ocean water. I stood up stretching my arms out. “Ahhhhhhh, Goooood Morning Destiny I-,“ and then the boat dipped bow first and sprayed me with ocean water. I turned around slowly to face Riku who was steering the boat. “Did you have to dip the boat like that or did your evil little inner-self tell you to do that?” He just laughed. “Fine then since I’m already wet,” I took off my tank top and pulled down my skirt so I was only wearing my bikini and dived into the water.

“Hey, wait for me,” Riku called. He took off his shirt diving in after me. He caught up in no time and grabbed my foot pulling me under the water. I tried to kick free but he was too strong. He pulled me closer to him then he slung me around his back and on to his shoulders. He swam till he could touch the ground, then he walked on to the beach.

“Ok you can put me down now,” I said trying to wiggle free. I accomplished leaning over backwards and hanging down his back while he held on to my legs. I could see Sora’s frustrated face as he drove the boat in. “We left Sora and Kairi in the boat.”

“I know,” And then I hit the ground.

“OWWWWWW, you could have put me down in a nice way,” I said rubbing my head.

“I know,” He said again and smiled.

By now Sora was docking the boat. “Here,” He called and threw my clothes to me; he threw Riku’s shirt so it would hit him in the face. I didn’t want to put my clothes back on I was just going to go right back into the water any ways. The day was beautiful and I didn’t feel like working on the raft. I laid my clothes out on the dock and turned to face the group.

“Ok, we have a few things left to do for our raft,” Kairi started, “Riku we need you to finish the wood work. Sora and Summer I need you two to gather all our supplies. We need a sea gull’s egg, three fish, drinking water, and three mushrooms.”

“What does that leave you to do Kairi,” I asked

“I’m going to be on the other side of the island getting everything together. All right everyone got their jobs? Then let’s go to work,” she shouted while jumping up and down.

“Someone is excited,” I whispered to Sora as we turned away to go collect our stuff.

I walked a little ways with Sora before I told him I was going to look for the stuff on this half of the island and he could have the other half. When I sent him running in the other direction I turned around to see Kairi already in the water.

“Come on Summer,” she called waving her hand. I smiled running to the water. Working is for boys.

...

Two hours later I was carrying three mushrooms, a bucket of drinking water, and a few logs Riku asked me to pick up for him every time I passed him on the beach. It would have taken me a lot less time if I hadn’t been swimming with Kairi. I just hoped that Sora wouldn’t notice how long it took me; the problem was I couldn’t find Sora.

“Hey, Summer,” Someone called my name. I turned around to see Selphie running towards me. “Hey Summer, Wakka and Tidus won’t jump rope with me, and I know you like to so would you mind playing with me?”

“I’m sorry Selphie, I kinda have my hands full right now, ahhh literally,” I said looking down at all the stuff in my arms. “Plus I can’t find Sora. Have you seen him?”

“No I haven’t, but I can help you look for him. Need me to carry anything?”

“Yeah, here,” I shifted the stuff in my arms around so that Selphie could take the mushrooms from me. We walked around the beach only stopping to chuck logs at Riku. But with my wimpy throw he only laughed when I hit him. We found Wakka and Tidus playing blitz ball together in front of the waterfall.

“Hey, have you guys seen Sora,” Selphie asked.

“We saw him a while ago going into the secret cave under the tree trunk over there,” Tidus said pointing to the hide away.

“Ok, thanks,” We walked up the steps and across the ledge to the tunnel entrance.

“Let’s just put our stuff down here,” I said before crawling into the tunnel. Selphie followed behind me. The ceiling gradually got taller so we were able to stand up and walk, but the temperature seemed to drop lower. We came to the back of the cave which was a big open room. The walls and floor were all rock. And everywhere you looked there was drawing and names etched into the walls. I looked around at some of the pictures and names recognizing some of them as my parent’s and my parent’s friend’s names. I haven’t been in here since I was little. I spotted Sora in the back of the room. He was standing facing the old wooden door we were never able to open up. He looked like something was wrong or bothering him. “Sora, What are you doing?” He jumped and turned around to look at us. Then realizing who we were he jumped again and leaned up against the spot on the wall where there was a little carving.

“Ummm hi Summer, Selphie. What are you two up to?”

“I was gathering the stuff we need for the raft and Selphie was helping me because you aren’t.”

“Oh well, I got some stuff right here.” He looked down to the ground where rest of the stuff we needed was.

“Oh great Sora, that’s everything. Do you mind coming with me to turn it all in to Kairi?”

“Yeah sure,” and he got up careful not to let us see what he was carving. “Come on ladies, let’s go,” He said pushing us out of the tunnel. I tried to look behind me to see what he was carving but I couldn’t make it out. As soon as we got out of the cave Wakka came up to us.

“So you were in there,” He said to Sora. “Hey Selphie, me and Tidus were going to play volleyball, and we need a ref. Want to help us out?”

“Sure,” She smiled. Wakka took her by the hand and pulled her away. She turned around to wave at us. “Bye guys good luck on your raft.”
