Miss A's Competition

Just as TimeChaser would of course go off and write about the Doctor (Tennent love!^_^), I am going to tell you about my favorite fictional character.

Unlike my buddy TC, I didn't have a clear-cut answer. Hitsugaya from BLEACH pops up first, he's short, childish looking, albino, and "genius" like from immense amounts of elbow grease. But he's far too anal and in a position of power, something I can't relate to.

Then I thought of Ed from FMA. He looks at science, yet cares for his family, and tries to change an ever-oppressive system. He wasn't good enough either.

Then it hit me: Kino. She's misunderstood by her family, and only by a force of will is she able to free herself from their town and society, out into the bigger world. She's constantly on the move, never sitting down, learning about as many cultures and societies as she can simply for the sake of learning. At first, she was only running away from her past, but she came to make traveling her hobby and life, despite the fact that she could safely settle down anywhere she wished.

She's also gender-neutral, something I am. It's not as if I were gay, but I come across that way to many, being brash, straightforward, and having one short (3 month) dating period in my entire life with a single person. I move too much, and I'm too strong for the men around me. Some are scared of this (and have said it outright to me), but I am not going to change myself for others.

But the most important thing about Kino is her genuinely open mind about all that she witnesses around her. She just keeps traveling, because the world continues to move. She'll never be able to see everything the world has to offer her, but she'll try to see as much of it as she can.

For, the world is not beautiful, therefore it is.

WARNING: NERD CONTENT! I would like to warn you that I did not take this photo, namely because it is rather difficult to take a photo of yourself when not carrying a tripod and timer. With that said, the short one is me. I make my own cospl...
