So. I've been active on theO. Rather, I found a hard disk with art from high school, and I've started to sort trough it. Most of it is garbage, but there are a few gems I intend to post. Namely, prank boxart for a (non-existent) Texas Hold 'Em anime that I made senior year to fool my Anime Club. All it did was piss off the club members who thought it would be an awesome idea to have a Texas Hold 'Em themed anime or manga.
Anyway, as for life: semseter's still got two weeks left to it, and I have three papers and four exams in the next two weeks. Bummer. Papers are due Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week, respectively, and my tests are Tuesday and Friday of next week, and Monday and Tuesday of the following.
So next week, I have a paper due or an exam each day.
Anyway, back to life. I got rejected from every summer job and internship I applied for this time. I have a standing offer at both of the summer camps I've worked at, but I really don't want to work with kids in large groups this summer, especially living with them. It's not that I don't like kids. I just haven't had any privacy or a room to myself over the summer for the past seven years.
I'm going to study for the JLPT exam, the GRE, and practice my Mandarin Chinese. I'm also going to clean my parent's house, top to bottom, because unlike my room, the rest of the house looks like a tornado hit it. My dad does not under stand the meaning of picking up after himself, and both of my parents work too many hours to bother with cleaning. Cleaning only gets done when guests come, and usually that entails moving everything into an unused room, the basement, the attic, or closets.
My room was a converted closet itself, and you can only walk three paces inside. There isn't enough room for a bed, so I sleep on the floor. I don't mind it, and I've learned to make the most of the small space, but when I return from college after every semester, it takes me a week to remove all of my parent's junk they they pile in my room. I often cannot go to bed the first night of my return with all the stuff they throw on the floor and on my mattress.
It's about darn time for things to change, and I'm one step short of sending room photos to Clean Sweep (the TLC room makeover show).
On another note, there are two other things I'll be working on over the summer. The first is that I am going to be finishing the giant Ichigo plush (the only thing left is his right shoe- I've woven the left shoe by hand out of jute and will make the right the same way) and work on some commissions for cosplay.
I also will be tutoring Mandarin and Japanese in person (if you live in norther Jersey) or over the internet (Skype). If anyone is interested in lessons, they won't be free, but I can promise that they will be reasonable. I have tutored Japanese and ESL for three years.
