With a silent yawn I walked to the kitchen. It was Nee-san’s turn to cook breakfast today so I didn’t have to wake up earlier then usual. I looked at the food. Nee-san’s food is Different each time in some way so I could never guarantee the taste of her food.
I poured the hot green tea in two cups and set it on the short tables. I sat on one of the mats and waited shortly. Nee-san came into the room setting our meals on the table. It was rice, natto, and egg rolls…. again
“Are we broke again Nee-san”? I asked while moving the food with my black chopsticks. She just smiled taking a bite of the rice. I bet she couldn’t even afford the ingredients for fried rice.
“Yes, so for now on don’t waste any food or there will be a penalty”, she said with a grin.
I groaned. I hated natto. I was sick of it, even though it was healthy. “So you are the one who ate all the anpan huh”?
Nee-san had a nervous face then patted my head. “Look right now there is a lot of cases now with a lot of criminals, for some strange reason. So when I get my paycheck then we will eat fried eel”.
“But what about the loans, the bills, and the mortgage”? I asked her finishing my two egg rolls.
Nee-san smiled. “We will pay it off of course! But starting tomorrow you are starting school”.
My face didn’t move. I was in shock. I always been home schooled, I never went to high school ever. “But why”?
“Because, since there is a lot of cases I won’t have time to school you”, Nee-san answered back pointing her chopsticks at me.
My chopsticks fell to the table. My eyes were big and I looked at her. High school would be a very dangerous place for me. I was 16 but yet I looked like a 13 year old. I am what those ecchi people call a loli or lolita or something like that. I sighed hoping I would wake up from this horrible nightmare. But I knew it wasn't....Nothing will ever be the same anymore for me...or the people of the world.
