30 seconds, you bitch.
I took deep breath, not only was I stressed beyond beleif at having to wait two hours to get my computer de-virused, but she wanted to know why I was interested in KIRA? In 30 seconds. Bitch, I thought as she smiled cruelly at my desperation.
I secretly rejoiced at having an extra copy where she could never get it. No one could get it.
"Fine," I started. "I was the prosecutor for the Takamura Case. I was there when he died, things like that don't just happen. It was KIRA. I always followed the case, ever since it started when I was 10. I want in on this, I want to capture KIRA."
14 more seconds.
She considerd this, sipping her coffee.
11 seconds.
"Since I can't yet determine if you're lying or not, I will give you the vaccene."
I sighed with releif. 6 more seconds.
"However," she continued. Bitch, I thought. "You must know that I can do the exact same thing in a matter of seconds."
Then she stuck the green disk in my laptop and the screen dulled for a moment, than lit up as a thousand serial numbers slid across the screen in a split second. She pulled the disk back out and popped it into her bag.
My laptop and entire existance, legally and financially that is, was spared, but I wasn't neccesarily forgiving, not that I'd say it out loud.
"I want in on this," I repested.
"In on this?" She regareded me coolly, and for the first time I realized she had to be about 10 years younger than me. Teenage bitch, I thought.
"Yes. Obviously you're in on the KIRA Case. And I, obviously, have read those files. I want in."
There was so little I could do to convince her, but I'm stubborn and I've got nothing to lose, except maybe my life, but what's my life compared to all the innocent people who could be killed by KIRA? Not to mention all the cults that would, and no doubt already have, spring up to worship him. No faith should be based on the slaughter of human beings, no matter what their deeds.
I kept my gaze steady and hard and she returned it with calm regardance and a hint of amusement.
Finally she smiled, a genuine smile. "Fine," she said. "You want in? You got it." She pulled a phone out of her bag and dialed.
I'm in, I thought. I'm going to help capture KIRA!
