Irritated

SMACK!!!!

The loud slap echoed throughout the empty hallway followed by the sounds of the girl who'd done it stomping off in a rage. I giggled a bit and rubbed the side of my face. "I don't believe I deserved that one..." I snickered. "Oh well...like I care..."

Walking back into my classroom I grabbed my schoolbag and proceeded back down the long halls to the staircase. The next lecture would be starting soon...but right now I really wasn't in the mood. Quickly sending off a text message to my driver, I made my way to the front entrance of the school. School security approached me.

"Hey...get back to...is that you Christopher-san?"

"Yeah...open the gates alright? I really don't feel like attending the rest of the day. My car will be here shortly." I informed him. We were always on good terms...after all, you had to know just WHO to make allies with...in case you should NEED them. Like Pawns on a chess board...not weak if you know how to USE them.

The guard unlocked the gates and opened them up for me. Smiling and waving to me as my car pulled up and I stepped in. Plastering on a fake grin, I returned his wave...then plopped down in my seat with a loud sigh.

"What is it Young Master?" My driver asked looking in the rearview mirror.

"Nothing...it's just...so bloody tiring today...that's all."

He returned to driving...knowing not to question me further. That wasn't entirely true...I just...didn't have the concentration I needed in class right now. Not since I'd seen that broadcast on the telly. 50 prisoners in high security prisons...silenced all at once...through violent heart attacks! Just like the research had shown! KIRA HAD returned!! My heart raced just WAITING to see the next move! This was interesting, and I was sure it would only get better with time. Now, the police would most likely make their move. They would have to decide, to capture the criminal...or stay out of the way. In the past, the police had decided to stay out of it, and yet, they HAD to of had some sort of unit investigating...there was just too much of a haze when it came to them. I'd heard a rumor...an Anti-KIRA Task Force...one of my sources claimed to have worked with them on one occasion. They'd captured a man believed to be KIRA in a grand fashion after a long car chase on the freeway. That was one instance where the police HAD intervened...yet even after that man died...the killings continued.

So intriguing!! Would THIS time be like the last...or would this KIRA prove GREATER than that of Ten Years Past? My adrenaline began to rise just thinking of it.

I got home and plopped down on my couch. Marie entered and was about to turn on the Television when I stopped her. "Actually Marie...would you please fetch me today's paper...I didn't have a chance to glance it over this morning."

"Yes my lord." She smiled and left the room. Returning with the paper in tow...as well as a cup and teapot, and tea-cookies. She handed me the paper first, then poured me a cup of tea while I sat up and prepared to read.

"Thank you Marie, that will be all."

She bowed and slowly exited the room...leaving me in peace. My eyes went wide immediately....the picture on the front page was...was....

So It Is Written And So Shall It Be... The First Has Returned And Now The Second Makes A Move. Written in...BLOOD...on the side of a toppled over white truck.

A Large smile formed on my face. I read the column...there were a total of three men found within the vicinity of that area...dead.

"The Second...Second, KIRA?" I mumbled contemplating this. "But what does this mean? So it is Written? That's not merely quoting old text...is it?"

As I thought on this matter...I could hardly contain my excitement. What would the next moves be???
