Summary: Alice is sent to the countryside where she finds it extremely boring...What awaits her? Will her summer end up really boring?
Note: I do not own OZ or Alice. I only own the plot. I wanted to create a different world for the two of them so it's way different from their environment in Pandora Hearts. Moreover, there ara alot of original characters in here.
Chapter 2
Alice was now staring out her window. All that was heard was the loud pour of the rain. But she was still contemplating on her dream-like afternoon. This is so shoujo manga, she said to herself. She was no manga reader but she knew what genre her story was like because her otaku friend April, would sometimes tell her stories of shoujo mangas. Alice never encountered such situation in her life because again, she was always partying. She couldn't believe that this was happening to her.
"Maybe I'm imagining too much coz I was like super bored." she thought. "But if this is a dream, I hope I'm not supposed to wake any minute from now." She smiled.
It took a day before anyone could set foot outside the streets because the rain indeed left mud all over the place. However, Alice happily helped Grandma with the household chores. She offered to wipe the windows. Grandma was a little bit shocked about it but was happy that her grand-daughter now had interest in some other things in town.
Alice was dreaming of the hot sun on the beach with her friends when "Alice-chan, wake up. Alice-chan! Someone is looking for you." It was Grandma pulling Alice from the corner of her futon.
"Ehhh??" was what Alice could come up as of the moment. She pulled her hair in a ponytail without combing her hair and headed down the stairs.
"Ohayou!"
"Ohayou...Oz?????!!!?" Alice was now wide awake!
What is the angel doing here at this time of the day?!!?!?!
"Ohayou! Yes. I'm Oz Bezarius, the one who you met the other day, in case you forgot about me." And he flashed his killer smile.
"How could I forget about you!!!??!?!" Alice almost screamed. "You're...you're my first friend here!" she easily reasoned out.
"I came here to return the umbrella you lent me..Thank you."He handed over the umbrella.
"...and to ask you if you're free today?" He sounded hopeful.
"Wait...let me just fix up myself. It would be so rude if I'm in this state talking to visitors. Can you give me...five minutes?"Alice asked.
"Sure.Take your time. I can wait."Oz answered happily.
Alice ran upstairs and literally threw out all her clothes from her bag.
I only said five minutes so I have to hurry! I can't afford to make him wait!
"Thank you for waiting...Wait! What did you say again before I went upstairs??? I didn't catch that.."
"Hmmm... I asked if you were free today coz there's this place I wanted to show to you...if you're free."
"I am so free! I don't do anything all day!" Alice blurted out in an instant!
Crap. I am so dead obvious. Why does he have to ask questions with obvious answers?
"Nice! Let's get going!" Oz said cheerfully as he pulled Alice by the hand.
"Wait! I didn't have breakfast!" she said as she looked at Oz and then Grandma.
Grandma smiled and Oz spoke for her "Breakfast is taken care of!"
Alice sat at the back of her sister's old bike. "You're going way too fast Oz! It's creeping me out!"Alice complained. "I have to! You'll see why!" Oz shouted.
Alice noticed that they were at the foot of the mountain. Oz made a turn to the left and drove higher through the thick trees in the forest. Alice could now see the little village from where they were. The town was indeed small but it was also the size that made it beautiful. After about 15 minutes, Oz's pace began to slow down. From afar, Alice could now see something flickering. She had to half-close her eyes. And when Oz stopped the bicycle, Alice saw what he meant. It was just the right timing to see the sun's rays reflect on the small but very clear river from over the tall mountain.
"I thought these were only in the movies... It's really beautiful!"
"You don't say that! God's creations are all extremely beautiful!" Oz said as he again, smiled at Alice which made Alice's heart beat faster.
One thing's for sure...You're God's creation.
Alice smiled and went near the flowing river.
"Wow! ..... I think what I said was just an understatement. This is really...cool Oz! And you can even hear it flowing! It's like music to the ears! Can't you hear it?" Alice was talking like she was in a trance.
"You think so too? You're the third person to say that! I'm glad you like it. And I'm more thrilled because we share the same feeling towards it." It was evident that Oz was thrilled with what he heard.
"Are you naturally like that when you smile? I mean, honestly, every time you smile, you...you really make me smile too! It's like something contagious. " Alice couldn't help but ask.
"Good! I make you smile too. Forgetting something Miss Oliver?" and he took her breath away again.
"You're doing it again. Haha! Oh! What did we forget??" Alice seemed confused.
"Don't you wanna eat breakfast? Or are you on a diet?" Oz asked and it was evident that he was teasing her.
"Diet? What's diet?! Not in my vocabulary!"Alice knew right then that Oz prepared something so she had no right in spoiling whatever Oz had prepared for that day.
They had pancakes and hot chocolate for breakfast. And Oz bragged that he had no help from Mine-san who was a genius. For the record, Oz's pancakes were tastier than her sister's. After eating the two sat beside the running river and talked about themselves and about anything that just came to their minds. In between their chats and laughs, they would put their feet in the river and let them stay and feel the current flow or play with it by splashing. They both didn't even mention about lunch just to keep the good momentum going. No one got hungry either. Late in the afternoon, they sat under a huge tree and Oz was being a little bit of a show off. He showed Alice that he could do back flips and other harmful acrobatics. Alice was also astounded to see how such a cutie can do those inhumane moves. On the other hand, Alice also showed Oz that she was good at impersonating famous people. Oz was just laughing his heart out at what she was doing. No one had been so candid in front of him in his entire life. (Except for his cousin who was never afraid to bare everything to him). Alice was also shocked that she did something like that to someone who she really didn't know yet. She couldn't even do that to her friends. (Nee-chan was an exemption because the two were like twins forever). It seemed that they knew each other for a long time now and that they were close friends who were having a reunion. They were even singing some of Hey! Say! BEST songs.
"I have to pay you for this. I will try my best to cook for you. Come over my place tomorrow at lunch. Are you free by that time?" Alice was already comfortable talking to Oz that she didn't stutter anymore.
"I am so free! I don't do anything all day!" Oz mocked her and ended up laughing at himself.
"Meanie! I can't copy that killer smile of yours!" Alice pouted.
"Killer smile? Like this? No, it doesn't kill you."Oz answered while smiling at Alice.
His eyes even smile! Gosh! I will never be able to get used to this! Ever!
"Oh it does! I'm just not yet dead. Dunno why..."Alice trailed off as Oz was really teasing her.
"We better get home before Grandma thinks you're holding me captive!" Alice teased back.
Oz made sure that their trip was not a rocky one when they headed down the side of the mountain. He was careful not to speed up that much. Alice could now see the sun set over the small village. When they reached Grandma's house, Oz parked Rin's old bike and accompanied Alice to the doorstep.
"So I guess I'm not eating breakfast tomorrow so that I will surely have to finish whatever you will prepare for me tomorrow" Oz was still teasing her.
"Bully!" She was about to pinch Oz's cheek when she came to her senses.
Oh no! What do you think are you doing Alice?? Urgh! Coz he's so adorable my hand just acted on its own!
"I'm...I'm sorry..I didn't mean..."Alice was about to explain when Oz pinched her cheek instead.
"Do this? Why? Is it really that hard to pinch someone? Am I that cute that you couldn't pinch me?" He was almost laughing now.
"YOU ARE SUCH A.....URGH!!! OZ BEZARIUS, YOU....!!!"Alice was enraged and embarrassed. It was like he read straight through her.
"See you tomorrow Miss Oliver!" And he flashed her his killer smile.
