Well... I'm still here. Still at the motel...
I suppose an explanation is in order for that last line.
Friday I came to work with my overnight stuff because a storm was supposed to drop around an inch or so of snow on us during the night. Well, it turned into a full-fledged blizzard and we ended up with about 6 inches of snow. Interstate 29 was closed from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Missouri Valley, Iowa. I work at a motel just off the interstate in Sioux City, Iowa, about halfway between them. It's now Sunday afternoon and I have to work tonight. I am hoping to get home tonight... mainly because I want to sleep in my own bed, but partly because I only brought overnight stuff for one night and have been here two!!!
One good thing about being stuck here is that I was able to watch Doctor Who right after work last night. It's on IPTV at 11 on Saturday nights. And since I usually work 'til 11, I never get to see it coz it takes me about an hour to get home. XP ... So I got to watch Planet of the Ood. Yay. Then I went over to CN to see if they had any anime on. It was Fullmetal Alchemist. I couldn't watch... I discovered that I don't like the English voices they had for Ed & Al. I know Al is supposed to be a young boy, but the voice was too girly.
And now I'm watching a wonderfully cheesy movie: The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Mmmm...
I think I'll wander off now. And try to see if deviantArt is working yet.

Actually, I no longer have pocky. I ate it all last night.
Just a quick note to let you know I am still alive. Just been very busy and slightly stressed out between my brother being hit by a SUV, Mom having shoulder surgery & getting a new car. (It's TARDIS blue!! Clicky!)
I have a plan to get some artwork actually done by the end of the year. Grandiose plan, ne? I found a bunch of folders the other day and went through them and organized my projects. I want to try to get most of them done by the end of the year, so I can start up something new in 2011.
Wish me luck. I will need it.

Figured that was appropo for the Halloween weekend.
I'm still alive, but have been subjected to weirder than usual happenings in the real world. I'm still rather busy at work with stuff. I didn't take the job offer I got in August, mainly because they won't commit with a start date at all. So I'm still at the motel, hating it, but I have a job!
I'm ready for October to be a dark, distant memory. It's not been the greatest month. On the 13th, my brother got hit by a SUV while crossing the street in front of our house. He did have a bit of a skull fracture and has a huge gash in his forehead, but other than that nothing major. Knee's a bit messed up and lots of scrapes elsewhere. But he's up & around and back to normal... for him. XD
Then my mom had shoulder surgery on the 26th. It didn't go as smoothly as she hoped, and she's been in a lot of pain. She ended up unable to walk the other night. (Yeah... shoulder surgery. Go figure.) And she's got pneumonia on top of it. She's in the hospital now, so she's getting some great care.
So, as you can see, I've been running pretty much full tilt the past couple weeks. But I did get to see something truly incredible today. My oldest brother & his wife stopped by the house and had a couple ultrasound pictures of their impending granddaughter. These were pictures of her face! I have never seen anything like them. Of course, I'm now even more excited for the baby to come.
