...that last week ended. I did not have a good week. Let's summarize:
Saturday: day off. Yay. Hockey game. Yay. Lost hockey game. Waaa.
Sunday: was woke up around 6:15 am by my dad, who wanted Mom to go help him. He didn't feel good. My dad is 79 years old and has heart problems, so naturally we thought it was something with that. Ended up with the ambulance crew in the house at a time I'm usually sound asleep. Dad ended up in the hospital overnight. Nothing with his heart. Yay. Worked.
Monday: the usual. Work. Busy!
Tuesday: Day off. Mom had veins stripped in her leg. She's still laid up with that. Did laundry as usual and ended up having to go down to the laundromat to dry stuff again.
Wednesday: came down for breakfast and Mom told me my friend had died. Her obituary was in the paper. She had died on Monday. She had cancer and fought it for 10 months. I'm still bummed. My brother is bummed. I'm a little mad at her, but at least she's not in any pain or anything anymore. She's probably up in heaven laughing at me right now. That would be so like her. Had to work as well.
Thursday: Day off again. Mom had to go to the doctor to have her leg looked at & ended up with a few stitches because the one incision kept bleeding. The good thing about Thursday... the new washer & dryer were delivered!!!! No more running down to the laundromat anymore! Yay!!!!!
Friday: woke up to the sound of Mom calling for Dad to help her because the one incision was bleeding again. That was around 6:30. Got down to breakfast and was about to continue reading my book when Dad sat down and started to talk to me about Mom and so on. I said I knew what was going on because the bathroom is next to my bedroom. He also told me all sorts of things he wanted me to do because his back hurt bad. I reminded him that I did have to work. Went out to read the paper. Mom sat and talked to me about all the stuff going on with Dad and all the things she wanted me to do as well. I reminded her I had to work also. I must admit that I was so ready to go to work Friday....
Saturday: work as usual. I think the bad crap has stopped finally. *crosses fingers*
And so it is Sunday again. I'm at work. Blah. Potentially boring as usual. I hope it stays that way.
So... Thursday was another day off. It was also payday. That's the great part there. Money is always nice. I put another $30 into my iPod fund. I'm shooting for the 120 GB one with video. I've still got about $60 to go to get it. (I just figured sales tax into it.)
My brother thinks I'm crazy for going for that one, but hey, it's my choice, right?
A rather funny thing happened this evening. Around 8:00 pm, I came downstairs to feed the cats their evening treat. My mom was in the recliner, looked at me, and said, "Anna, I'll give you $10 if you can find my glasses." I went over to the recliner and started to feel around next to her. She said she and Dad had already done that. I started to take a step forward and felt something under my left foot, just between my toes and the ball of my foot. It was her glasses. I found them in less than five minutes. She even said she and Dad had tipped the chair up to see if they had gotten under it. So... she told me to go get her checkbook. She wrote a check and I had her stash it in with the rest of the iPod fund. Wild.
So... that's about it for me tonight. I really should go balance my checkbook... but I really don't wanna... but not doing it is what gets me in trouble sometimes! Arrrgh!
Tonight's subject lines have all been coming from whatever is on my iTunes as I start to post.
Anyhoo... had today off. Did the usual, complete with having to go down to the laundromat to get my stuff to actually dry.
So... Sunday at work was boring for the most part. It was also quite aggravating towards the end of the shift. Stupid, demanding people. I wish they'd just go away sometimes.
Well... Saturday night's hockey game was fun, but the outcome was not. We lost. I did have fun with my camera, though. Here's a little sample of hockey, Sioux City Style!! My Musketeers are in the black jerseys. The evil opponents from Lincoln are in light blue. Really. Sort of a baby blue color. Not very attractive. The black jerseys are quite nice looking. The first time the Muskies have had black jerseys. I like them.
Right in the middle of the screen, about halfway through this there's a pretty hard hit. You can tell it by the massive "Oh!!!" from the crowd.
Got home and got online. Tried to print something and ended up with a massive paper jam. The printer decided to use every piece of paper at one time. Hit my head on a shelf while trying to unjam paper from printer. It still hurts a bit.
Now my eyes are drying out seriously. I think I may just have to go to bed. Before 1:00 am! On a Saturday night! Yeek.
Just to clarify about Tuesday's laundry doing... it wasn't fun. Our dryer is dying noisily. I had one load in it and a second finish up in the washer (which is also on its last elbows)... I checked the load in the dryer and it wasn't even dry after 45 minutes of running. So... I had to raid my piggy bank for a buttload of quarters and ended up down at the local laundromat to finish the other two loads! I think that there are only 2 functioning washers and 1 functioning dryer in that place as well! Arrrgh!!!
Hopefully, the new washer & dryer will be in by the next time I need to do my laundry.
Wednesday was a totally un-fun day at work. We've lost our franchise and are switching computer systems. I start work at 3:00 pm and get off at 11:00 pm. I wasn't able to eat any of my dinner until 10:30!!!!!! When I left, there were 6 rooms available in the main building. The main building has 106 rooms. That's busy for a Wednesday. I sure hope that I still have Saturday night off or I will be quite cross. Saturday is opening night for the local hockey team. I must be there.
Thursday was a day off again. I was put to work around the house. I cleaned the upstairs bathroom, made lunch, did lunch dishes, vacuumed the living room, and helped put a quilt together. Then I did nothing of great importance... except watch a couple episodes of Doctor Who from series 2. Yeah.
Now I'm goofing around with my computer. I should try working on coloring that picture in Painter... but, I probably won't.
Laters!
Kitsune got bling!!!!
Gee... I wonder when I'll be wearing that jersey next....
