Every time Firefox updates, I have to go and tell it to get the plugins for Adobe Flash and Adobe Acrobat. Sheesh... I wish they'd automatically update them at the same time.

Anyhoo... Work last night was hectic. I wasn't feeling the greatest when I got there and it was incredibly busy. Of course I was working with the little psycho as usual. Fortunately, he spent a good chunk of the night driving. Thanks to the flooding in eastern Iowa, lots of trains are being rerouted through our area. That means there's an increase in the number of railroaders staying at the motel. This is going to go on for about a week or so... or so they hope.

I was supposed to work today, but one girl was scheduled for Wednesday can't work that day. We switched shifts. It's probably a good thing that we did. I was so drained last night after work that I was in bed before 2:00 am and slept almost until noon!!! Even with a phone call interrupting my sleep around 8:30 this morning. I went back to bed and was seriously out for another three hours.

So, I've been playing online for much of my afternoon. I got through all my email and updates. Now I think I'll play around with my Wacom tablet for a bit before figuring out what I want for supper.

Well, it's Sunday evening around 7:30ish. Had the day off. Hooray!!!! So... I ended up going to SUX with my brother to do a little running around. We didn't do anything incredibly exciting, but it was fun just getting out and doing stuff. I baught a new laundry basket. Woohoo! Such a wild purchase, eh? Oh, yeah... I also got a bottle of water. Yeah!

Things have been pretty busy and hectic around work. We had a full house all weekend again. Next weekend should be the same thing. I'm definitely not looking forward to it.

I did finally get pictures off my camera and onto the computer. I got some of them resampled to sizes that will be better for online viewing. I still haven't got anywhere on the pictures from my nephew's wedding yet. *sigh* Well, I probably could get to it here tonight, but I'm having way too much fun watching my internet connection come and go. I called tech support about it a couple hours ago and we had it solved... for about an hour. The wireless keeps dropping as usual. I don't want to go upstairs to the big computer because none of my stuff is on that. I want to sit here in the living room and watch Doctor Who tapes!!! Arrgh.

Well, time for me to sit and wait for the wireless signal to come back on upstairs. I guess it's time to play solitaire for a bit... hangabout.... something's happening. It's connected again! w00t!

Now that was entertaining.....

I got about half of what I needed to get done on the computer last night. We had a slight issue with the weather. A line of severe weather hit western Iowa last night. We had a pretty wicked thunderstorm hit right around suppertime. My brother & I were standing on the porch watching it when the sirens went off. We both stood there for a couple minutes wondering if the sirens were indeed in our town. When we realized they were, we headed for the basement. Thing is... there was about 5 minutes left on the pizza in the oven. On the way down, I turned off the oven & left the pizza in there. I took the timer down with us and when it went off, we went up and got our pizza and a couple cans of pop and ate in the basement. Then my sister & her family came over because they don't have a basement in their house. We didn't have enough pizza for them, though. My brother-in-law said he had just put some brats on the grill when it hit.

We were fortunate in that no tornadoes hit our town. There was one about 4 miles south of us, but it hit in the country. I haven't heard what sort of damage was done by it. If anyone follows the weather-related news and heard about the Boy Scout Camp in Little Sioux Iowa, that's about an hour south of us. It's so sad that four of the Scouts were killed by the tornado down there. Warm thoughts are going out to the families of all that were killed or injured.

Well, since I'm at work right now, I haven't been able to get back to that which I was doing on the computer at home. Go figure.

Still alive and kicking!

Well... I'm still alive. It's just been a pretty hectic week. Let's see what I can remember....

I think it started with a quick trip to Omaha to pick up my parents at the airport on the 28th. Then my nephew got married north of Brookings SD on the 31st. I had that whole weekend off, so that meant I worked non-stop from the 2nd through the 8th, with another trip to Omaha on the 3rd. Finally had a day off yesterday to "catch up" on all the stuff I didn't get done during the week before. I didn't even come close to getting caught up with anything! I was too tired to even try. I've got tomorrow off, so I am going to try again. I'm not holding my breath, because that Indiana Jones Lego game on my DS sure is fun.

Laters!

Ugh.

I really need a day off to catch up on things. This staying up until 3:00 in the morning doing laundry is for the birds....
