Still alive, version 2.5, build 17

Yeah. I'm still around. I must admit that I've been pretty busy at work. A while back I took on some extra duties that keep me pretty busy. Also the fact that I'm still working with the little psycho keeps me off the internet. He has a tendency to stand behind me and read my email over my shoulder. I've gotten to the point that I won't do anything personal on the computers if I'm working with him.

It was a weird summer. We went through a lot of staff. Some were fired for various reasons, some quit and a couple just walked out. So many things going on that I don't even have any way to begin to tell you all about it. We also had the guy that ran the restaurant, lounge and banquets just up and leave. He cleaned out a bunch of stuff from the kitchen and that was that. One of the ones that walked was our sales director. It's been since late June and we're still trying to deal with some of the crap she pulled. It's been a bit stressful all summmer and half the fall so far.

As you can probably imagine, I cherish my days off quite dearly. And, you can probably guess... it's a night off right now. I've got tomorrow off, too. Then I gotta work Tuesday morning. Ick. The weather is supposed to be icky, so I can only hope the drive to work isn't awful.

In other news... I had a bonus from work and spent it frivolously on anime. I got the entire series of Gankotsuou. I may or may not have mentioned it here some time in the past, but my favorite novel of all time is The Count of Monte Cristo. So, of course, when I heard that Gankotsuou was a retelling of that story, I had to get my hands on it. I just had to wait a few years from when I first heard about it until I got to see it. I have also picked up the manga version. From what I read in volume 3, there's only 3 volumes! Arrgh! They only covered a small part of it in the manga. AAAAIEEEEEE!!! Give me more!

I also have learned that I have an inflamed tendon in my right hand. It's an incredibly odd feeling. I thought I was finally succumbing to the joys of carpal tunnel syndrome, but my doctor friend said the pain is 'traumatic' not 'repetitive'. I just wish I could remember what it was I did to my hand to cause a 'traumatic' injury. I am seriously happy that I don't have to wear a wrist brace or anything for this. I hate having to do that. It would mean I wouldn't be able to do any crocheting.

My artistic tendencies are still stunted and stifled. I did get a couple of the 'How to Draw Manga' series books last month, but have yet to do anything with them besides carry one of them to work and back in my backpack everyday...

Well... I think I have babbled enough here. Sorry to be so long-winded and sorry to be so absent. I am going to try to rectify the situation. I may not be on every day, but I will try every week...

Laters!
