BRIEF BACKSTORY
He,HYDE and Sonata were the founding members of the famous gang EXE; even as teenagers,they acted as mercenaries during the War of Titans against the Gedoes as they recruited members.He used to be a pyromaniac vandal prior to joining EXE.After the war ended,Sonata managed to convince Flame to keep living with HYDE in his newly-conquered park.
PERSONALITY
Flame and HYDE are often compared to each other,due to the both of them often trying to keep a cool,laid-back image (with Flame being arguably more successful at it),but in truth,the two of them contrast heavily in personality;
Flame is generally more relaxed but far less romantic and hopeful than HYDE.He tends to be very sardonic and ;Despite his love of teasing his friends mercilessly,he is actually more withdrawn and tends to keep to himself,surprisingly,as he's not very good with people (especially children,which he finds overrated).He is however observant and knows a lot about his friends; sometimes details they don't even know about themselves.
Flame is very cocky in battle and prone to taunting, but he makes a point of always killing his enemies. He's particularly proud of never having lost a one-on-one fight.
He has a fascination of big fires,which he finds soothing to watch.He always likes to ignite his lighter,as it calms him down in moments of stress.He only does it when he's alone.
Flame has a habit to act and pretend that he doesn't care about much other than having a good time,making himself sound foolish and hedonistic, but out of the 3 original EXE,he is the one the most hurt by all the casualties the gang suffered during the war;all these deaths still haunt his mind even 18 years later and he never truly moved on from the trauma. That makes him very protective of HYDE,Maryanne,Lio and Sonata, but also extremely hateful towards traitors.
Flame is infamously really hard to reason with once he gets truly angry; he tends to even stop caring about his safety.
He admits being really fond of androgyny, which is the biggest factor in his attraction to Morphin.
BATTLE STATS
Flame is very talented in fighting;he is HYDE's equal at least,often implied to be stronger than the latter,with his powerful abilities.
Flame fights using a lighter,whose flame he can manipulate to a degree,even being able to shape it as a sword blade,or making that flame explode for heavy damage.He keeps a number of lighters on him in case one gets damaged. this leads to many of Flame's opponents to assume he controls fire,which is a delibarate ploy on his end; his actual ability is control the surrounding oxygen,which allows limited combustion and wind manipulation,corrosion,poisoning via oxygen excess,augmenting fires and deoxygenation .Despite having potentially the strongest ability in the EXE,he admits he is still looking to fully understand the mechanics of his ability

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
While he was mostly HYDE's second-in-commander in Theriomachy and Helter Skelter,his role and development expands greatly in Wretched Hive, during the aftermath of the Elysium War.He is left to run the Exe and watch over Maryanne and the children,since HYDE was left completely catatonic in reaction to Sonata's death.While he is saddened by his childhood's friend's death too,he has the fortitude to go on and actively tries to snap HYDE out of his depression,as attacks from the newly formed RAGZ started becoming more and more frequent,and his ignoring Maryanne hurts her. His character arc begins when he gets news from a friend of his called Max the Undead about Vodka's new pharmacy which makes him promptly walk away from the EXE for revenge.He is glad when HYDE follows him in the depths of Third Eye,but his relief of seeing his friend get better is completely overshadowed by his seething hatred for Vodka,even expressing annoyance when God-Abaddon's emergence interrupts their fight,which he was about to win.
After the Abyssium,Flame realizing he is the last original member of the EXE still alive,managed to cope against all odds,although he is still depressed and sickly.He watched over Maryanne (with Lio) until she dies of grief and from delivering Vivianne.Morphin betraying him and selling out the EXE's remains to RAGZ is his breaking point though; he forces Lio to leave with the baby,so he could exterminate every single RAGZ,especially Morphin,personally.He almost succeeds in his vengeful crusade but eventually is killed due to being vastly outnumbered.While he seemingly curses Morphin before dying,he also mentally apologizes to all of his friends,before dying from blood loss.
NOTABLE RELATIONSHIPS
+HYDE is Flame's self-proclaimed favorite victim and they bicker the most out of the EXE;Yet,they are often together and they often come up with the stupidest of adventure ideas,such as looking for dirty magazines from the Old World.Their outlook on life contrast a lot,but they still respect each other,and Flame is loyal to HYDE.He also rides vehicles for HYDE,as the latter cannot drive.
+He shares a rather casual "friends with benefits" relationship with Morphin Morganna,albeit with a pretty high emphasis on the sex.Flame finds Morphin's rude demeanor and cold dismissal of his flirting cute and never seems seems offended by it. (He claims she acts very different in bed,which contributes to him not taking her attitude seriously).To tease her,he likes bragging about their "friendship" to make her flustered.He flips-flops between hinting at an interest in a serious relationship and being comfortable with their current one.He does however legitimately like her,to the point of defending her when Sonata,one of his closest friends,badmouths her.He is often disapproving of her very cynical worldview though.
=Even though they were once very close friends,Sonata and Flame have had frequent falling outs ever since Morphin was hired into the EXE as a mercernary.Flame finds himself quite displeased at Sonata constantly expressing his distrust towards her and "preaching" Flame to not get too invovled with her.While they can still be cordial and joke around at times,they argue and stop talking every time the subject of Morphin is brought up.Like HYDE,he is very affected by Sonata's death and his last words were a mental apology to Sonata for trusting Morphin
+Together with HYDE,Flame and Billy Iguanidae form a rather fun trio of immature adventurers.Flame is Billy's main link to the gang and they talk a lot,either exchanging info or talking about relationships
+Flame always admired Gutworm and looked up to him;This prompted Flame to learn mechanics and fixing machinery.He is jealous of HYDE's ''sworn brothers'' relationship with Mazda
+He has a surprisingly tender friendship with Maryanne and acts rather supportive of her.He doubles his support and tries his best to replace HYDE during the latter's depression and eventual death.
-Out of the whole group,Flame has the biggest grudge against the Gedoes for killing nearly every single of his Exe comrades,except Sonata and HYDE in the Titan War.
+With the above said,he surprised himself by getting to respect the Gedoe King Caesar for his bravery,fairness and strength,which had Flame think for a split second that maybe Gedoes arent all worthless scum that should go extinct.He usually thinks nothing of killing Gedoes but ending their fights left Flame slightly melancholic.
-Likewise,he has a massive grudge against Vodka for betraying the EXE in their time of needs.Mentioning his name is usually enough to royally piss off Flame.He has been searching for Vodka to kill him for a decade,although his desire for revenge had waned until Sonata's death
