Fight me!

~Kiri~

I laughed as I felt the wind rush trough my hair. I had untied it, so it flew around my face freely. I stretched my arms wide, basking in the warmth the sun brought. Suddenly I was tumbling forward. I managed to catch myself before I hit the ground. “What the hell was that for?” I growled to no one in particular.

“Miss,” a short, well polished man tapped my shoulder. I turned to glare at him. He flinched, and took a step back. He wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead, “we’ve arrived in Zolorous.” I grinned, it had taken three days, but I was finally here. I picked up my sword, and tied it to my belt.

“Remember,” I told the short man, “I was never here.” I handed him a large sack of gold, and had the satisfaction of seeing his eyes bulge out of his head. I had finally managed to get this far, I wasn’t going to be dragged back to Kuiri now. I took a step off the small boat, and took a look around.

The first thing I noticed, was that everyone looked so happy. So different from Kuiri, I thought to myself. But I wonder if any of them know how to fight. I looked around for a second, and saw a bunch of guys with swords, drinking and laughing. Perfect. I made my way up to them and smiled, “Hey boys!”

They looked up at me, and grinned as if they liked what they saw. “Hey pretty girl,” one of them slurred. I wrinkled my nose at the smell of his alcohol filled breath. “What are you doing out here all by yourself?” another one attempted a seductive smile. I groaned, these guys were way too drunk to be any fun. I turned around to leave, when one of them grabbed my arm, “where ya going girlie?” I glared at his hand, and gripped his wrist. He let out a soft squeal. I squeezed his wrist harder, he let out a scream, and let me go. “What the hell was that for?”

“Don’t you ever touch me again,” I hissed, and he cringed. I flicked my hair behind my shoulder, and walked off. “There has to be someone here worth my time,” I mumbled to myself. I looked around for a third time. I noticed a guy standing there, lost in thought, who looked pretty tough. I made my way over to him. “Hey, you know how to fight?” I asked him.

He looked down at me, “and who are you?” He didn’t look to happy about me interrupting his thoughts. I looked him over. He was probably in his early twenties. He had straight red hair that went to the back of his neck, and dark blue eyes.

“My name’s Kiri. So, do you wanna fight me?”
