Zane
“That’s right! I haven’t asked you your name yet,” Kiri said suddenly causing Zane to almost lower his guard. Kiri seemed to have lowered her own guard, and yet Zane refused this notion. However, he would say his name since she had already told him hers.
“Zane,” the sand pirate said aloud after another moment of silence.
Kiri seemed to nod and then became focused again as she gripped the hilt of her sword once more. “Nice to meet ya Zane,” Kiri answered lightly as she seemed to move back into the fighting position. However, just as the attack was about to start, a voice rang out causing Zane’s eyes to slide a fraction. A man from behind Kiri was heading towards her at a rather slow pace. Zane felt his eyebrows raise somewhat.
“Lady Kiri!” the man yelled, and with that, Kiri turned around completely. Zane resisted the urge to smack his face. Lesson number one, don’t let your guard down so dang fast…..had come straight into Zane’s mind at that point. Wait did he say… Lady? Zane blinked realizing that he had heard the name and the formatting before. Was he seriously fighting Kuiri Princess??? Zane shook his head sharply.
“Sorry,” Kiri grinned slightly at Zane. With another motion, she ran towards the soldier and then suddenly jumped over him and started to run. Zane watched and somewhat felt dubfounded by the entire scene. He turned his head over to the other two of this strange group and addressed Hibiki first. However, as he went to say anything, he fell silent.
“Well this is a predicament,” Hibiki answered Zane’s half look and seemed to make another motion to leave. However, Zane gave him a sharp look, and Hibiki instantly nodded to himself half in defeat.
“Haha, you’re never gonna be able to catch me.” Kiri laughed to herself, and Zane shook his head.
“Didn’t think one damn fight would cause so much drama,” he said aloud. Hanatsuki gave him a sharp look as though ready to start her own fight with him. Zane felt his eye twitch and shook his head.
Suddenly, Kiri hit a brick wall, and with that, she fell on the ground. Zane shook his head again and wondered if the entire situation was better left alone. Hibiki seemed to exchange a smiliar look at Zane, and both men seemed to take a half step back. Hanatsuki, however, stepped forwards as if ready to challenge someone or something of the like.
“Damn! That hurt!” Kiri yelled aloud, and Zane shook his head again.
“Lady Kiri! Are you alright?” the solider who was now moving towards Kiri was saying over and over again.
“Stay away from me! I’m never going to go home!” Kiri yelled suddenly.
Just when this stream of entropy seemed to not be able to get any wider, another girl seemed to come flying in and kicked back the previous solider. Zane let out a breath and raised his eyebrow once more. Stepping back once again, he waited patiently to see if there was going to be any further recourse. I need to get back to my ship damn it…..ran in Zane’s mind in that moment. However, just as he was about to back up and slip away, he hit something as he turned.
“What the….” Zane said looking into a reflection of himself upon the armor of none other than the Captain of the Anarden Knights himself, Sawyer.
Sawyer
Sawyer had been walking his rounds of Zolorous as he had always done. It was his duty to not only his king but the rest of his people so that he might protect them better. However, the day seemed to be ragged with excitement. Several shipments of supplies had been pouring into the city over the previous day, and Sawyer had been assigned to deal with each and every one of the packages that made their way into the city.
He walked down towards the sand ship holding center to look through the shipments, but just as he was about to get out of the city, he noticed that there was a strange assimilation of people along with two rather three men, one of them chasing woman, and three women that seemed to have come together into a strange gathering. Their clothes didn’t reflect the usual attire of the people of Zolorous, and in that moment, Sawyer turned and headed towards this strange group.
Just as he was walking into the group, one of the men with solid red hair seemed to be backing up into him. In that half second that he realized there was something there, the man seemed to jump back confused.
‘What the….” The man said looking straight at Sawyer with a sharp look one can only give someone that they know and hate.
In that instant, Sawyer realized who it was. Flicking his blade sharply out, he used the hilt of his sword to ram the blasted pirate in the ribs forcing him back.
“Well now,” Sawyer said in a sharp voice as he stared at Zane. “I haven’t seen such this bloody pirate in so long.”
The pirate’s eye seemed to grow wide again but instantly narrowed.
“I am not a pirate,” the man said in an almost reasonable tone, and yet Sawyer knew this man… Zane… from experience. Zane was on the top most wanted criminals in the entire kingdom of Anarden, and recognizing this bloody traitor to order, Sawyer held his sword straight at the man’s throat.
“That red hair gives you away too easily Zane,” Sawyer said glaring at the pirate who’s face had now shifted into a full reflective glare. “You should dye it. If you think you can come within this city and get away with it, I’ll take your head right now.”
“Shut up,” Zane answered back as his eyes reflected his own brutal hate of the Knight before him. Both men had grown up on opposite sides of the sword, and in the end it was best never to question this measure of their relationship. “I’ll kill you right now you stupid Knight,” Zane answered back.
Sawyer drew his sword straight forwards, and both men clashed with a sudden and very brutal measure. The sound of metal on metal railed through the air causing several people to suddenly look over. Another man, that had been with the pirate, had stepped forwards and seemed to be trying to stand between them.
“We really shouldn’t fight right now….” The man said, and Sawyer’s eye moved sharply over to him.
“Is this one of your bloody crew mates?” Sawyer glared back at Zane who returned the glare.
“Nope,” Zane answered back. “I killed all those useless fools already.”
“Hah,” Sawyer answered back. “You’re the useless fool.”
Both men broke apart and lashed out another sharp blade attack at each other.
