Disappointing.

Whereas last season of anime kept me heavily entertained (Mitsudomoe Second Season, Zombie Desu, Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, Baka to Test OVA), this new batch is heavily disappointing. Seems it's just a bunch of crappy ecchi stuff (not that I have a problem with it, I just have standards).

Only thing worth looking forward to is Nichijou (such gorgeous animation and catchy OP/ED!) and Dororon Enma-kun (huge Go Nagai fan).

Might continue with Hen Zemi (TV), as it's taking the OVA a while.

But.

Hnnggggggg.

I THINK I AM GOING TO BLOG WITH THIS THINGY ON THINGS CONCERING RANTS IN ANIME.

Now if you excuse me, I feel the need to rewatch Dokuro-chan.

:v

Missing the old days.

Okay, going to try out this 'post' thing again, because this time I'm going off of a just-procrastinated-a-whole-week-on-a-project-and-got-it-done-at-record-speed high and I'm not tired and I think I finally got things figured out myself (because I'm stubborn and don't like to ask for help).

I thoroughly enjoyed myself this spring break, broke out the old box of anime VHS tapes that I got from my friend and had a bit of a procrastination spree. Just me, my DS, a comfy blanket, an angry cat, and some great stuff from the 80's. Finally got around to re-watching Bubblegum Crisis, forgot how much I loved it.

Also re-watched All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku-Nuku (an all time favorite) along with Battle Athletes, and the first chunk of Tenchi Muyo.

You know....looking back at all this stuff made me realize how much I loved the art style of the 80's. The detailed mecha and backgrounds and cyberpunk settings that my dad kinda got me hooked on. You just don't get that stuff today. You really can classify each decade by the anime that was created, and it still remains my favorite period of stuff.

One good thing though about today's anime...

Appleseed is slowly getting better with each installment. The first OVA? I'd rather sit though both tapes of M. D. Gheist.
