What was there.

The pink haired kunoichi put chakra into her right fist and punched the thick bark of the tall tree. She watched as the wood cracked and then fell back onto the earth. She sighed as she put her hands to her hips and looked up. What do I do? she thought to herself. She sat against a tree, her emerald green eyes slowly closed as she put her head down.
They finally did it. They finally brought back their old teammate, Sasuke Uchiha. Sakura thought that she'd be so happy, that things would go back to the way it used to be. But it didn't. Ever since her and Naruto brought him back, they've either been going on missions with different teammates, or never had the time to talk to each other because of the work that her mentor, Tsunade had her doing. She didn't even know if she felt the same way about Sasuke like she did back when they were all gennin.
She didn't even have time to talk to Naruto. After Sasuke left, she got to know more about him. She even learned of the beast that lurked inside of him. The Kyuubi. She sighed again and looked up. Ever since they brought Sasuke back he's been avoiding her. It hurt a bit, that her best friend wasn't around as much as he used to be. I wonder how he's doing right now, I haven't seen him since the party we had to celebrate his becoming a Chunnin. Even then we didn't talk. Although I'm surprised Sasuke's beginning to talk to me, but still, why is Naruto avoiding me?
"Sakura!" Sakura's head popped up in surprise.
"Sakura!" she turned to her left to see a woman with short black hair and a pig in her arms waving at her.
Sakura walked towards her. "Yes, Shizune-san?" she said, wondering why she bothered her during her training.
"Hokage-sama requests your presence. She says she is assigning you a mission and for you to meet her in her office." Shizune said.
"Hai, tell her I'll be there as soon as I can." she told Shizune. At that Shizune ran off to give Tsunade the message.
Man, more work! Why can't she give me a break for once!? Cha!! Sakura let her thoughts ramble in her head as she wondered into the village.

~*****~

I wonder what she wants this time. A blonde, spiky hair boy walked up the stairs to the hallway that lead to the hokage's room. The whisker marks on his cheeks were thin, unlike the times when the Kyuubi's power took over him.
He reached the door to the hokage's room and pounded on it with his fist.
"Come in." the masculine voice of the fifth hokage, Tsunade, was calm this time. Weird. She'd usually yell everytime I pound on the door. he thought as he opened the door.
"Good, you made it just in time." the blonde haired woman stated as she clasped her hands together to hide an evil smile. Naruto's eyebrow rose as he walked forward.
"What is it Baa-chan?" he asked rather rudely. He hated to be interrupted while training, especially since he was training to take the old lady's position.
Tsunade's vein became visible but she held back the yell pulling at her tongue. She breathed in and glared at him. "I'm sending you on a missi-" a gentle knock on the door interrupted her before she could finish her sentence. The woman sighed. "Come in." she said calmly again.
The door opened slowly and the head of a pink haired girl popped into the room. "You called Master?" she said as she walked in and closed the door behind her. "I was about to-" her eyes shifted to her blonde headed friend Naruto and smiled at him, staring into his oceanic eyes. "It's been a long time Naruto." she said calmly walking up to him. He stared at her and looked away.
"Baa-chan, what is it you want." he said a little impatiently, trying to ignore the only one he ever loved, even if it hurt him so much.
"Oh yes." she cleared her throat and smiled at them. "I'm sending you two on a mission." she said clearly. "It's a C-Rank mission so there shouldn't be any prob-"
"Yeah yeah yeah, just tell us what we're supposed to do." Naruto said calmly. We better get this over with. I don't want to get involved with her.Naruto thought.
The vein on Tsunade's forehead nearly popped. Sakura giggled thinking that this was nastalgic. Same old Naruto. She smiled at him and then looked away quickly. He was staring right at her, wondering what it could be she was giggling at. She felt her cheeks get a little warm and looked back at Tsunade.
"Anyways," Tsunade started as she began to calm down, "You two are two guide a young lady to her home in the Land of Waves."
