Hi and welcome to my first lesson 
In the toturials I will make, we will draw with pencils, so it´s important that you learn more about your tool !
If you never drawed with pencils before, I have to say: "Every pencil has an different hardness grade !" And it´s very important to know that fact, because you have to choose wich pencil you use for shadows, basic structures and drafts.
The hardness grade tells you how hard or soft a pencil is !
When you look at the picture below you will see the most important letters on an normal pencil.
( I signed wich of that grades we need to draw my pictures. )
Now i will give you a short explanation for that letters.
The letter B - B8 means that tha pencil is soft. Those are perfect to draw big areas or dark shadows. In the following Toturials you will understand what I mean ^^
H - H10 means that the pencil is hard, so we will use it for drafts, basic structures and bright shadows.
HB is 1 of my favs ^^ You can use it like a B or a H type, but you will never make so dark shadows like the B grade ! That´s the only Handicap HBs have.
The last letter is F. I used it some times and I think it´s only a brighter version of the HB grade. You can use it like the HB, but only for brighter areas !
