In this Toturial I will show you, how to draw the basic structure of a head and how to place the eyes.

First of all we need following pencils :

H 6 or F

If you have got one of those pencils we can begin with this toturial. Well, we will start with one of the most important parts in the whole face, the eyes. Because the eyes tell you the mood of your anime charakter. I will show you, how I place the eyes in 4 steps.

Step 1 :
Like in every picture, we will begin to draw a simple circuit. That´s the most inportant part to draw a good head, later you will understand ^^.
Now we need two lines:

The first line(1L) begins at the top of our circel and goes straight through the middle. The line ends nearly a circuit length below. Now we need a secound line(2L). That one goes across the middel of the ring. It ends on both sides.

If we have finished this part we can place a point(CP) on the first line to place the chin. The point should be nearly half the length of the circuit and below it. Then we can draw the headlines(HL) on both sides. Important! Make sure that the lines are similar.

Step 2 :
If you finished the 1 step, then you have created the basic structure of the head. Now we can begin to place the eyes. First I make two points again:

The First point(1P) lays below the secound line I drawed in the circuit. The point is right in the middle between the 2L and the bottom of the circuit. The Secound point(2P) is right on the intercept point of the first line and the bottom of the circuit.

If you did that part then you have to draw just two more curved lines. They end on the sides of the circuit. You can decide how curved the lines should be. After that we need to make 3 littel lines on both sides to set the size of the eyes. Important! Pls watch the distance between the 2 eyes, it should be the same as the distance between the 2 curved lines in the middle.

Step 3 :
In step 3 you can begin to draw the first parts of the eyes. I always draw little triangels to make the eye shape. Then I draw the eyelines. Important ! The eyelines should touch the circuit line.

Step 4 :
In the last step of this toturial I correct the eye shape to make it looks well ^^ Then I draw the light effect on the eyeball. Important ! That effect should be not to big.
