Political Jokes gone to far
Today on the News, there was a report about how David Lettermen slammed John McCain almost the entire duration of his show either last night or a few nights before. He really ripped John McCain because first, he canceled his appearance on the show and secondly, he's suspending his presidential campaign. Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin has also been the butt of all jokes lately. Ok, I personally don't like John McCain or Sarah Palin, but jokes have a way of sometimes going too far. I think this is one of those times. David Letterman was clearly angry at John McCain but he didn't really have to slam him so harshly throughout his show. John McCain does have some good plans to get this country back on track but the rest of those plans and ideas are just an extension of what Bush did to throw the country off track. Also, when interviewed on The View, I felt as though John McCain didn't really give a clear answer as to why he chose Sarah Palin as his running mate. I think Obama's plans for the country and his stance on some of the issues facing the American people right now are stronger. However, seeing as though Celebrities are now getting in on the race to become President and how everyone's making jokes about the Republican candidates, my vote is clearly for Obama, but I'd hate to see John McCain lose the Presidential Election just because these political jokes, which are both funny and mean, might influence people's choice for President. I really hope people do their research and don't just vote because Celebrities are for this Candidate or because Celebrities are making fun of that candidate. Also, I don't agree with Sarah Palin's view on some of the issues, but I think people should give her a break too. She is a smart woman, she just back's up McCain and I strongly disagree with both of them on some of the issues. I know, campaigns can get pretty ugly. I just don't want people to be influenced by mean political jokes or Celebrities; I mean, it's ok if you let other people impact your decision but just do your research.
Youtube Sensations...more like Youtube Losers!
I typed this up Sept. 17
Youtube (and Blog TV) have become increasingly popular over the past half a year. Several Celebrities have joined Youtube, like Miley Cyrus, and have instantly gone to the top of the list for the most subscribed Youtube Channels of all time. I really don't like Miley Cyrus. She can't sing (her voice is horrible), she can't act, she definitely can't dance, she definitely ain't funny and she's a Disney Slut. Half naked pics of her started surfacing on the internet just months after she turned 15. Those 'scandalous' pics only got worse as the year (this year) went on. The whole 'Vanity Fair' thing caused a lot of controversy. She posed half naked for the magazine and just blamed it on someone else; she also released a statement saying she's sorry to her fans. Yeah right! She didn't expect people to react the way they did to the pics; the pics clearly hurt her image and that's why she apologized and decided to blame someone else. And she's still causing quite the controversy, this time by hanging out and possibly dating boys who are at least 5 years older than her. And yet people still like this bitch and give her the time of day. Her Youtube Channel is currently the #7 most subscribed of all time on Youtube and she just joined Youtube in February. It took some of these Youtubers years to break the top 10 for most subscribed of all time on Youtube and this bitch did it within a few months just because she's the hottest Teen artist in America right now. She shares the Youtube Channel with a 22 yr. old chick named Mandy Jiroux (who's probably not a good influence on Miley; just look at the age difference). They have their own webcast series called “The Miley and Mandy Show”. The webcast series is on the same level as iCarly (a show on Nickelodeon). iCarly is aimed at kids and The Miley and Mandy show is aimed at basically anyone but both webcast series are completely stupid with a bunch of idiots hosting the show who do nothing but rant about crap people don't care about.
Anyway, on to more Youtubers. 2 popular Youtubers are NigaHiga and KevJumba. I started watching their vids months ago, at the beginning of the year. Their vids are hilarious! But as the year went on, they both started releasing other Comedy vids that just didn't live up to my expectations. Their newer vids just weren't as funny as their older ones. I don't know what happened but they're not funny at all anymore. NigaHiga has kind of dumbed down while KevJumba just doesn't do anything except talk about crap like Celebrities while adding in his own Comedy skit. And NigaHiga is actually gonna be in a movie. I really want to know how that happened. He's not as funny as he used to be. His vids are stupid now.
Then there's Youtubers like Michael Buckley and Venetian Princess. I found out about Michael Buckley and Venetian Princess around the same time I found out about NigaHiga and KevJumba. Michael Buckley has his own webcast series called “What The Buck” and it's completely hilarious! In every episode, he rants about Celebrities and Hollywood but he is just so funny the way he goes about doing that. He talks fast and he adds in Internet Acronyms like “LOL” and “WTF” and he also makes smart remarks about some of these Celebrities that may be rude (but not really) but it's his own opinion and it's so funny! That's real comedy for you! Some of these popular Yotuubers that shouldn't be popular at all could learn a thing or 2 from Michael Buckley. Venetian Princess is funny too. She makes a lot of Celebrity Parodies. They're kind of funny and I enjoy them (I like her older Celebrity parodies better). But they're definitely not stupid like NigaHiga and KevJumba's recent vids. She also makes her own Fantasy vids; she did a spin off of Tomb Raider called “Tube Raider” where she saves several Yotubers or something. It was cool. She also has her own green screen so she does all the special effects herself. She also has done short webcast series such as “The Princess Chronicles” which is kind of like The Chronicles of Narnia and The Wizard of Oz. She plays all the characters too. But my problem is that she doesn't follow up with the next episode. There's no second episode to Tube Raider. I really wanted to know if she was gonna save the Youtubers.
Then there's Lonely Girl 15 (LG15) and Lisa Nova. LG15 is really popular and I have no idea why. I tried watching one episode of the webcast series (I could only watch part of an episode), omg, it's absolutely horrible! It's poorly made like the cast and crew of the webcast series just threw shit together and didn't really give it any thought. The camera is all over the place (the camera angles go everywhere), there's no storyline (it's supposed to be a mystery I guess but I couldn't tell because the scenes just jumped all over the place and it was very confusing), the cast didn't really look like they knew what they were doing (there was hardly any dialogue among the characters and when there was you could hardly hear what they were saying) and they tried to be interactive which was a turn off (in the middle of a scene they're like “Go to LG15.com and help us solve the case”. I'm like What Case??? What is this Shit???). I have never watched a vid by Lisa Nova. Her vids look like they're complete bullshit. Just from the profile pic that comes with a Youtube vid, I can already tell that this bitch isn't funny at all and that she's a Whore and Slut who's vids are completely worthless.
Next there's Happy Slip. I never thought she was funny at all. From my perspective, it seems as though her vids are Asian Comedy because she's Asian. I watched a couple of her vids and I'm like This Shit is not funny! She plays 2 different characters in one of her vids that I started watching but never finished because of complete boredom. She plays herself (I think) and apparently she also plays her Mom or her Teacher (something like that) and she starts talking about random crap. People who find that shit to be funny needs to be slapped. I do like Asian Comedy (mostly Japanese Game Shows; they're completely hilarious!) but Happy Slip's vids are just bland. I'm sure a lot of different people watch her vids and not just Asians. But I just find her vids to be very boring.
Lastly, there's Smosh. I watched a couple of their vids and they weren't funny at all. One of their vids is “Food Battle 2008” in which 2 boys (Smosh is a duo) pick a particular food and do stupid things with it like trying to use it as a tool to fix something and seeing whose food worked better in that area. It is quite funny but towards the end of the vid it just gets stupid and boring. Smosh is the #1 most subscribed of all time on Youtube (NigaHiga might pass them soon; he's only about 3,000 subscribers short of taking the #1 spot). I like the fact that Smosh and some of these other Youtubers have worked for a while to get to where they are now with subscribers (unlike Miley Cyrus who received instant popularity on Youtube and is now whoring herself out on Youtube as well as Myspace), but their vids are just stupid and complete bullshit! They really have to step their game up to keep some of their audience (and to be honest, with their crappy vids, I have no idea how they managed to keep their audience).
Music...Hip-Hop, Pop and Rap Trash vs. The Oldies and International Music
I typed this up Sept. 12
I can't stand Hip-Hop, Pop and Rap...they're complete trash! Artists like Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers completely ruined Pop and artists like Soulja Boy and lil Mama completely ruined Hip-Hop and Rap. They're songs are pretty catchy (well only a couple of Miley Cyrus songs and absolutely none of The Jonas Brothers songs are catchy), but they're complete bullshit! These artists are just wannabee's soon to be has-been's. Even though Madonna is a washed up artist, I can understand how she came to be the Queen of Pop. She actually did contribute to the Pop music world and she paved the way for several other artists. But Miley, The “JoBros”, Soulja Boy and lil Mama are just tweaking what other artists have already did. It's the same with shows like American Idol. The contestants don't sing their own original songs. They sing songs by other people and just tweak it a bit by adding in some of their own flavor like those vocal roller coasters that are completely annoying (Beyonce and Mariah Carey do that all the time! I don't wanna hear them hold the same note for 10 seconds with about 5 different pitches. Ugh!).
Also, the lyrics to music these days are trash! Especially that Hip-Hop and Rap junk. It's all about Women, Sex, Drugs and Violence. And these artists almost always, if not always, have half naked women in their videos. And on the news, some girl actually wants to sell her virginity for money to pay for College! What is it with people and their fascination...more like obsession...with money and sex? It's a disgrace! And these women aren't making it any easier for the majority of women who won't actually stoop that low just for money. Women are so much better than that! And what are these girls getting paid to dance sexually in Hip-Hop and Rap videos? And why are so many teenage girls fascinated with pregnancy and having a child? Come on! I know, this really doesn't relate to music in general. But it does relate to Hip-Hop and Rap. Young people watch these videos and listen to this trash. They probably also watch the news about this stuff and play violent video games. The more they're exposed to it, especially at a young age, the more they're gonna wanna experiment with things like Sex and Violence. Parents should really monitor what their kids watch on TV and the kind of music their kids listen to.
Music has become such a cliché...well, in a way. It's always the same old shit with Hip-Hop, Rap and sometimes Pop (I can't comment on Rock or Country Western because I don't listen to it). I'm glad that artists like Celine Dion and Donna Summer are still around making wonderful music. I'm glad they haven't changed to what Hollywood and Young people wants and expects these days. Their music is still warm and the lyrics to their songs come from the heart. That's what music is supposed to be. I actually listen to J-Pop (Japanese Pop) Music more than any other kind of genre of music. I feel as though J-Pop artists stay true to themselves, to their family and friends and to the people that like their music, more so than American artists. With American artists, I feel as though it's all about change. The music industry has really changed in the past few decades and these new artists just wanna keep up with that. They wanna keep up with the times of what music has become and they also want music to keep changing. With J-Pop artists, I feel as though change, growth and maturity are all on the same level. Music changes over in different countries too. J-Pop artists do keep up with that change and they do add on to that change, but they also grow as people and mature into Young Adults or Adults. So those feelings and emotions of making that transition from a Teen into a Young Adult or a Young Adult into an Adult (a lot of J-Pop artists are actually in their teens, 20's or 30's) and feelings of everyday life are expressed through their music. I find J-Pop to be more enjoyable than any other genre of music I have listened to because of that. The beat and melody is either soothing or upbeat and the lyrics are always warm and true.
Madonna Concert vs. Other Concert
I typed this up Sept. 12
I'm glad I didn't buy a ticket to her concert. I seriously wanted a ticket to Madge's concert a few months ago. But I'm glad I kept my money cuz now I'm reading all these reviews about how awful her concert is. Besides, there's alot of things I could buy, or several different events, like Conventions, that I could go to with that money. Madge just wants to make a quick buck. She knows she has die hard fans all around the world. I mean, the woman is a legend. She's the Queen of Pop. And I would like to see her in concert at least once. But at this rate, it ain't gonna happen unless someone buys me a ticket. I ain't payin' no $500 just to see some washed up 50 yr. old has-been show up late to her own concert just to prance around on stage lip syncing to her own songs in skimpy clothes w/ bad sound quality. Let's be honest, she can't sing or dance for shit and she needs to cover up her goodies (if you can even call it that). I want a damn good show and damn good seats for that amount of money. And what's the point of going to a concert for a talentless yet popular Celebrity? Quite a lot of these artists have people, like song writers and choreographers, do everything for them while they take all the glory. But anyway, comparing Madonna's concert to other artists concerts, it's way cheaper and actually worth your time to go to another concert of someone who's not as popular as Madonna. I went to Gwen Stefani's concert last year and I only paid $100 for 6th row tix. I was satisfied with the whole 2 hours of the concert and I had a damn good view of the stage and Gwen! Talk about a good deal! Gwen Stefani actually pointed at me twice too! Yay!
Celebrities
I typed this up Sept. 12
I really don't understand why Celebrities are praised so much. I need to stop being one of those people who cares so much about them. I like catching up with the latest updates with certain Celebs. from Perez Hilton's blog, but I admit, there are times when I go completely gaga over a certain Celeb., like Gwen Stefani, and more recently Madonna. My obsession with Madonna is starting to pass just as quickly as it came. I became a Madonna fan in April and now it's September, and I'm like yeah, she really doesn't rock my socks anymore. I've been more of a Japanese Celebrity fan for the past few years now. Celebrities, no matter what country their from, are pretty much the same with all their glamour and money. But J-Pop (Japanese Pop) Celebrities seem to be more, I dunno, just private. You hear a lot of “scandalous” stories about American Celebrities but J-Pop Celebrities are more discreet about their life. But anyway, I know way more about American Celebs. so I really can't say anything about J-Pop Celebs. I really don't get why these Celebs. are paid so much. Forbes list of most overpaid Celebrities came out this week. For every $1.00 their movies made (the ones that bombed in box office), they got at least $3.00 back or something. So basically, they're being paid a lot of money for awful movies that hardly earned any money in box office. They're being paid for doing absolutely nothing! It's ridiculous! Acting, Singing and Dancing is not hard. It's their own fault that they can't sing and dance at the same time. I can do it. Not all the time because it is exhausting. So yeah, I understand, that's where lip syncing comes in. But seriously, lip syncing all the time, especially if you're not singing and dancing at the same time, just proves you have no talent. Also, half these artists have professional song writers write the lyrics to their songs. Choreographers make up the dance routines in their videos. And these actors and actresses are being paid lot's of money just to memorize a script. And I don't wanna hear any bullshit about actors and actresses doing their own stunts so acting is quite dangerous and they don't get paid for nothing. Oh please! Comedic actors and actresses, like Miley Cyrus, get paid for not being funny at all. And Disney is the worst! I like Classic Disney like The Little Mermaid and The Lion King. But Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana, Life with Derek, and all these new Disney TV shows and Disney sluts...I mean Disney stars....they're just an atrocity! So actually, quite a lot of Celebrities get paid for nothing. Some of these artists, actors and actresses are just a pretty face with no real talent or skill. Also, it's not what you know, it's who you know. Anyone can become a Celebrity with the right connections no matter if they have talent and skill or not. A few days ago, on Perezhilton.com, there was an article stating that people, like Celebrities, who make more than $100,000, actually have to live paycheck to paycheck because the economy is hitting them hard too. Oh yeah, so we should pity them because they can't live off of thousands of dollars anymore. They need more money in order to survive. Bitch, I survive off of $20 in one freakin' week! I don't get that much money on a weekly basis from my family (parents and grandparents), but the little they do give me, because they're working class people who do have to pay bills and provide basic necessities for their loved ones, I spend that money wisely. I'm not very thrifty, but when I know I can spend a few $20's on DVD's, CD's or Magazines (anything Japanese related actually), I go for it! I'm in College now, so I've been getting quite more money. But that money is for books and food and stuff. And that's exactly what I spend it on. I don't pity these Celebrities! They're a bunch of narcissistic rich bitches! Also, they're never satisfied with what they have. They always want more money, more clothes, more cars, more mansions, etc. Having a good house, all basic necessities, enough money to pay bills and support your family with some money left over for material things is all one really needs. Yet, these Celebs. spend money like it's gonna be gone tomorrow...or like it's going out of style (gotta speak Celebrity lingo...omg, money is so last week!). And another thing, how much plastic are these Celebrities made out of anyway? What ever happened to aging gracefully? Reality check, you guys look way more fuglier (funny and ugly) with all that botox and plastic surgery. And what's the deal with publicity stunts? Some Celebrities are clearly desperate for the attention they once had...or attention they never had. And working class people actually care about Celebrities and all their fakeness! Ugh! Oh, and the use of fur is so wrong! Get over yourselves!
