'D. Gray Man'

I am going to just come out with it: I find the manga 'D. Gray Man' very tenuous and not very well written, and these are the reasons why.

1. The fact that the akuma goes on and on killing just isn't convincing to me, and even the fact that they had to kill the very person who trapped them, and go on killing until both of them are killed.

2. I know that it is set in a fictional 19th century, but everything has the art of anachronisms.

Could anyone lead me into the right direction and help me decipher the nonsense which I think it is. This links with my dislike of 'DnAngel'. I find the fact that Dark resides in someone's DNA, and it is passed down through generations a very tedious storyline to deal with, and the fact that he changes when he likes someone, and they like the twins a bit too, maybe juvenile to deal with.
