Light is an extremely intelligent but bored 17-year old student. who decides to the death note to kill all criminals and earns the title Kira. His ultimate goal is to cleanse the world of evil to create a world without criminals and then reign over this new world as its "god." Then do to this goal spreading throughout japan it attracts death note holder Misa. She has a huge crush on Kira/light due to his goals.She is completely devoted to Light, saying that she loved him at first sight, although the feeling is disregarded since Light merely views her as a rather annoying benefit to his adjectives. In the manga version I am told she kills herself after Light's death, which but I don’t remember seeing that. Sort of the darker version of two star-crossed lovers.
