Redrawannn'
I'm starting meh practicing of drawing stuffs.
To do this I created slight activities for me to do and that includes re-drawing my old stuff, fixing whatever mistakes I see, and doing the same to anything else I see needs fixing.
Although...I think instead of the direction of 'redrawing' I should probably stick to CORRECTING. I'm just a tad bit afraid that I will make them look too realistic...Hrmm...Hopefully not.
'nwayyyy...
I redrew this pic:
Yeah, I definitely redrew it instead of correcting....Whatev's. I feel like correcting will take me longer so I didn't do that! XD So lazehhh...
I got this idea of correcting because of what I assume I've misunderstood of what Kinu Nishimura did...'During her first year in middle school, she cleaned up Tomonori Kogawa's drawings for Combat Mecha Xabungle.' What is that supposed to mean? Corrected? Made more accurate...? His drawings don't really seem to bad, so I don't exactly understand that phrase.
I feel like doing something with my worlds...Specifically listopia. I want to do a new list or recommendation thing, but I'm not sure what to do...
I also want to make a new layout look thing for this world. It's dull looking, to me. It needs some spiceeee!
Also, Shounen Jump's Manga Competition...I want to enter it, but I don't know what story to do.
The thing is...I don't read shounen manga usually! 'orz I usually read shoujo or seinen manga. Occasionally josei, but most of the time it's seinen. Any ideas I come up with I'm not sure are too seinen or not.
I've been reading winners of other international manga competitions and I think I get it sorta...but what does Shounen Jump want?!
Well...I think for now I should just stick to improving in drawing and writing and coming up with a good story...;3; (Then I'll get to drawing that manga)
Okie doke! Back to practicing~! :D
ADIOSSSS!!
Sketches from 9th grade to 12th grade
(and a bit of 8th grade):
I was going to make these more clean and white, but ooooh those colours look so pretteh! *3*
The older pics are in the bottom right corner-ish...I feel like it's easy to tell.
Hopefully this gives some inspiration to people who were at my level in 9th grade.
Sorry it's not that bigggg...>3> I did so many sketches on the same page of paper for this year that you can barely see them...XD And I can't make it any bigger because theO won't let us post big pics in our worlds.
By the wayyy, speaking of nostalgia (sort, not really?)...
There was a song that I listened to when I was little and I couldn't remember it at all except that it had a nice chorus...and it was one of the only English songs I was listening to so it really stood out (listening on anime radio):
And now I've learned that whoever decided the songs for that radio really liked Noir 'cause I recognize most of the tracks from the OST even though I've never watched the anime nor have I listened to the OST...O.o;
Now I just need to figure out that Mexico song...
Where they sing 'MEXICO MEXICO'...where could that be from?! It's killing me...
I need to get into gear and do what I planned to do over this break, I already missed my dentist's appointment...>3>
ADIOS~!
Japan Media Arts Festival knows what it's doing!
Since I'm an avid watcher of the Academy Awards, BAFTAs, Golden Globes, and Spirit Awards....movie award shows...uhuhuhu...>:3 I decided, why don't I look at manga awards festivals?
I looked at Kondansha...but...I mean, that's specifically for manga, but they're all pretty much the same. Almost all the shounen manga that have won are sports related (in recent years)...O.o; Children is just made up of whatever is most popular...Shoujo is almost the same...The only thing that seems at all deserving is the General Category. If you got an award in the General category I'd say you're doing pretteh well.
But the thing about Kondansha, it just seems like a popularity contest...or an award based on entertainment value rather than art.
Then I look at the winners for Japan Media Arts Festival....doood, they know what they're doing! The manga even that just got the excellence prize is some serious art. I recommend checking out all of them!
The only thing that slightly bothers me about the Japan Media Arts Festival award winners is that most of them have this...sort of stale taste...I don't know how to explain it....They're colourful in their own way, but they seem a bit harsh, I guess? They're very realistic. I suppose that is good thing.
Maybe it's good to have both Kodansha and Japan Media Arts Festival. Kodansha has much more vibrant and entertaining award winners and Japan Media Arts Festival has much more serious award winners.
It's the seriousness that bothers me. Not that they're all serious...but there aren't any that are like DOGs or Deadman Wonderland...which is probably a good thing, but I like seeing that thick lined, clean paged, art style. They all seem a bit rough.
Okay, I should stop pointing out faults. It's art, fine art, not design...that must be the problem I see. I'm used to the clean cut look rather than the somewhat messy, but getting the point across, look.
I guess that's because I'm American and am used to seeing graphic novels in the same box as illustration and graphic design...Which it should probably not be in, now that I think about it. Graphic design and fine arts, categorizing art just breaks art in a way.
I'm seriously just rambling here....
But yahhh...check out all the manga that has won the Japan Media Arts Festival Encouragemet, Excellence, and Grand Prizes~! They really do know what they're doing!
(Also, Sakanaction's Arukuaround won an excellence prize in the interactive arts category....uhhuhuu...one of my favourite songs and mv...They really DO know what they're doing! ;D Ohohoho!!)
Actually anything by sakanaction is great. I could watch their mvs for houurrrssss
Here are two other good ones:
You need to watch these will all your attention or else they're not as spectacular, which they really are. The first time I saw the second one I was bored and disappointed, but I wasn't really paying attention. The second time I saw it my mind was blown somehow....the editing is great.
Okay~! BAIBAI!!
Remembering Songs is SOOO weird...O.o;
I decided to download some OSTs of anime I've never seen so I can get inspired...
Turns out I recognize some of the songs...O.o;
I can remember EXACTLY how the songs will go...it's soooo weird since I haven't heard these songs for a very very very long time...;3;
Maybe you guys will feel the same way! It's just so weird....O.o;
(Pointless post, yay~!)
IT'S OVARRR~!
I had my graduation last time! OMIGOSH! IT WAS HELL!! TT^TT You don't understand what it's like to graduate in such a traditional school like mine...'orz I made so many mistakes.
We had to line up by height so I was in the front and I had to wait the longest 'cause I'm the 3rd shortest in my class...'orz Ughhh...it was so strict....
Anywayssss....afterwards my family and I went out to eat and it was all good (got tons 'o money).
But lemme tell you about the 'senior activities.' The yesterday morning we had the 'senior breakfast' and the 'senior slideshow'....and the slideshow just had the creator's friends in it...it was really awkward.
And we also had to pray at some of these events. I'm not religious. This is public school. Freaking keep religion out of school! >:[
Let me go back to the start of these 'senior activities'. We started them off with a big trip to King's Island. It was pretteh awesome except that it rained...So we didn't get to ride on all the rides...'orz But my friend and I did ride on things like the Diamond Back, The Vortex, and Firehawk. They were pretteh great.
My friend almost killed some girl, too. He accidentally hit her with a basketball and she fainted and her friends said she had brain problems...then the police and medics came and he thought he was going to get arrested! XD The funny thing is afterwards we saw her on the Diamond Back AND Firehawk. Two rides I would assume would not be very safe for somebody with those sorts of problems...But I guess she really was fine.
Also while we were waiting in line for Diamond Back these kids started talking to us. One of the guys in our class would yell something about satan and butts and I dunno, but apparently it offended the kids. One of them kept yelling 'YOU CAN BE SAVED!' At us...O.o; What the heck kid? And then they just started arguing and a lot of us didn't know if it was real 'cause it seemed so crazy. Then when we asked him how old he was he was like '14'...pffffttt...We all started laughing. Seriously kid? Arguing religion with 18-year-olds?
Afterwards the kid kept talking to my friend and I and it was really awkward...O.o;
...
....
I don't really want to say this 'cause then you guys will find out exactly where I live...Maybe you'll give me sympathy? XD But I'll tell you guys anyways since you seem like good chaps.
The same time we were at King's Island our school was flooded by none other than our stupid chemistry teacher. He was doing some fire experiment RIGHT BY THE SPRINKLERS and, OF COURSE, they went off. It was all caught on tape and now it's everywhere. I'm proud and ashamed at the same time! XD
This was in a brand new school. Our previous school was coming apart. The tiles coming off the floor. It was an asbestos filled school. Now our new school has the tiles coming off the floor and water damage just like out old school. My English teacher commented 'It's just like home~!'...XD
This was the week of the other student's semester exams...I felt so bad for them. I think a lot of the teachers probably didn't give out the exams in the end.
My friend was in the room when it happened. Turns out they were in biology, and since it was the end of the year they were just fooling around. So our chemistry teacher came in to show them a 'cool experiment' and show off and that's how it all went down.
Reading the comments by outsiders about it...it's a bit irritating. They question 'Why do they sound so happy?' and how they should be grateful their teacher is being hands on in science. Maybe they should pay more attention to the experiment and they might learn something.
There is no learning in his class. He is just a show off. I can't think of any time when any of his experiments he showed us actually had to do with what he taught us.
One time my lab partner and I asked him for help on how to turn on the burners. That's it. What does he do? Turns it up to max, puts a beaker on it, and it explodes. Thanks a lot, that's definitely not what we asked for. He could have just said to turn these knobs, but no, he had to do it all himself, teaching us nothing, and causing us harm.
In the video on he is wearing safety equipment, the kid he chose to help him is not. That, I feel, is the fundamental reason why he was fired. I'm very happy he was because he was a completely nightmare of a teacher.
One more example of why he is such an annoying teacher. Everybody in the class failed his test (or I should say TESTS because I can't think of a time when everybody passed or did well on them) because nobody labeled their work. The majority of us had the right answer, labeled and everything, but OUR WORK WAS NOT LABELED. Therefore the whole thing was wrong. This wasn't even your regular chemistry problem, it was just a simple math problem of division...How do you label that?! He never told us beforehand to label our work. It seemed like he made up something new every time we took a test so that nobody would pass his tests.
How does that make any sense for a teacher to do that? My mom, who is a teacher, and on of my good teachers both say that if the students can't pass the test then they need to re-teach the material because obviously the teacher didn't do a good job of teaching it. Tests are assessments for teachers and students. They are only there to tell the teachers that yes the students can move on to the next lesson.
Our chemistry teacher never re-taught anything so those grades stayed.
Okayyy...enoughs 'o that.
Our other senior activities were quite boring compared to this. Just community service, being taught about finances etc. (not well, but they did it), and practice. LOTS OF PRACTICE.
But it's all over and I'll never see these people again! JOOOYYYYYYY!!!
Well, some I will since they're going to the same college (and one of them has the same major and minor that I do) as I am....But they're pretteh cool, so I don't care TOO much.
Now I will go and be more active on the internet!!! >:D And in all the other fields that I talked about previously!! OHOHOHOOOOO
I also need to figure out what to buy with all meh moneeyysss I got. I have about $500 now...O.O; I though about getting a new laptop because this one seems to have sooooo many problems.....But I'm not sure....I want some sort of electronic because I feel relatively behind...
WELL....ADIOSSS!
OI! Before I go, a dance video that I love (with Tora-san <333):
